Techno’s question weighs heavy on his mind even hours later, when the room is dark and Techno is snuffling in his sleep, and Phil knows he should be doing just the same.
Is he okay?
It needles at him. Pokes and prods and works its way in through the cracks Phil keeps trying to patch up. It finds the emptiness in his sternum and it writhes there, twisting and turning and aching.
The answer is clear.

Karl—his fiancé, had just got shot in front of him and died. Karl had died. The thought lingered on Sapnap's head, the man had kissed him when he had stopped singing, and choked him.
Well, it couldn't really be counted as 'choked' as Karl tried to refrain from hurting Sapnap, while Sapnap didn't fight back and was waiting for his own death. But when Karl had let go of his neck and dropped dead, Sapnap's eyes grew wide in frustration. Did he really just lose not one, but two of his lovers?
Sapnap felt the cold, harsh rain touch the corners of his face as he looks at his lovers dead—bleeding body. He's unable to breathe, the sight overwhelmingly haunting and tampering his views. God, he wishes everything was just a terrible nightmare he could wake up from. He wishes that he could wake up in a mattress on a bedframe, next to both his fiancés asking him if he had a nightmare. He wishes none of this was real, he couldn't bear to lose both his lovers.

Weeks ago, Ranboo went into heat and was desperate for attention. Technoblade kindly and secretly helped him out before sending him home to his husband, and it was only ever meant to be a one-time thing they didn't talk about and certainly wouldn't repeat. And then Techno's own sort of heat arrives, rut, where piglin hormones surge and they become more aggressive, fighting each other and seeking mates. For so many years, he's faced rut alone, refusing to give in to his urges. But after what he did with Ranboo, he finds it impossible to get him out of his head, and he impulsively decides to invite him over to help him with rut. Return the favor, and all. And then this thing between them can be done.
Of course it couldn't be that simple.

Summary
Technoblade goes for a long-distance hike with Ranboo. This wouldn't normally be a big deal, it's good endurance training, and it's nice just being out and enjoying nature. Except this particular hike is very badly-timed, as Ranboo is just starting to go into heat, and while Techno does his best to get him back home to Tubbo before it gets too bad, the quickly building frustration soon pushes Ranboo to a breaking point. Distressed and desperate, Ranboo begs for Techno to help him with his heat. Techno, not wanting him to suffer, hesitantly agrees. He was willing to do what it took to make Ranboo feel better, but what he wasn't expecting was for himself to end up enjoying it so much.

Wilbur just called them the undead, but he couldn't exactly explain to a child why dead people could walk and why they didn't want to play with you, they wanted to eat you. Well, he couldn't quite explain it at all, so he settled for lurkers.

“Now you listen to everything Quackity says and be a good boy. Dada and I will come get you tomorrow,” Tubbo told the kid, holding onto his smaller hands with his own scarred ones and spoke to him softly. Quackity watched and wondered just how fast time had gone by for the kid he once knew to be raising his own kid.
Quackity flinched when Michael pointed at him all of a sudden, “like ‘pa Phil, ‘pa Q!” he cheered, clapping his hands.
“No buddy not ‘pa, just Quackity,” he corrected the zombie piglin, holding onto his hands once again. It was obvious the kid was confused by the statement but was still too little to form proper sentences to express his thoughts and only repeated Quackity’s name.
“What’s he talking about?” the duck hybrid questioned. By the mention of Phil’s name he could already guess what the kid was getting at but he still had to ask to make sure. Tubbo stood up now and looked at Quackity a little hesitant to explain. “You're still technically my father Quackity, Michael believes you to be his grandfather because of it.”

He doesn’t receive the news in court, when Tommy goes missing. He receives it, of all places, in his quarters, where all of the windows are meant to be sealed and the doors locked.
“Tommy’s gone.”
Eret nearly jumps out of her skin as Dream speaks in the once-thought-empty room. They slowly put their sunglasses back on and turn around, the knife in their sleeve dropping discreetly into their hand. Dream’s just… standing there. Hands in his pockets, leaning against the parlor wall. For the most part, he looks calm. Casual, even.
Eret knows better than to trust when Dream looks calm.
After hearing from Dream that Tommy has escaped exile, Eret agrees to keep to himself, to not help, to stay in his lane. After running into a half-dead Tommy in the Nether, however, she realizes that there's no way in hell that will be possible.
