Harry wanted to live, though he knew what he valued in life was little and unlikely to accept him now, but he had no choice but to walk to his death. The memories of times he spent with Ron and Hermione keeping him company as he dropped the stone.
The station he was in after being hit by the killing curse was oddly familiar, he thought he might have been there before; reminded of a few times he had vivid dreams of a train station after especially bad punishments, but then Dumbledore appeared and spoke to him.
He needed to go back, and in a way he was glad, but there were so many people he had used the idea of meeting or seeing again to make himself accept his destiny. It hurt to not be able to see them.
