It was still a bit strange that Valdivian would hire a 2562-year old- perhaps it should have been a warning. But how could Lian refuse the job after Valdivian decided to throw in an entire house as part of a mysterious "giveaway"? The whole thing was shady, yes. But. A house. A considerably large house. In a city 6,000 miles from their.. formidable... parents.
It's only after the AI takeover, the "job limbo", the bloodstained furniture, the shattered window, the splintered back door, the ghost in the attic, the shadow and the nightmare and those damned glasses, that Lián remembers- they are only 14, in dragon years, and it is catching up to them.
They are 14, but this time, they are not alone.
