Summary
Bumblebee has been through a lot since he was a sparkling: the final vestiges of the Great War’s end, cruelty, anger, and much more. He was told, alongside his batch mates, that they were the start of something grand, revolutionary in a way that others weren’t; they were special. The stellar cycles have gone by, some feeling like a crawl and others like a black hole had sucked them up entirely, and Bumblebee wished he wasn’t special.

Summary
After the war, Bumblebee had grown tired of expectations costantly forced on him, of duties that never ended, of being told who he was supposed to be.
At first, he hunted Decepticons with his team on Earth. But then the council stepped in, insisting he attend the Academy to "refine his skills", because apparently — he wasn't good enough in his job for them.
A year later, framed for a murder he didn’t commit, Bumblebee fled. Branded a fugitive, he vanished into the underground and became something else: an assassin, striking from the shadows to target the Council that betrayed him.
Eventually he got captured, the Council deemed him too dangerous for prison and sentenced him to the shadowzone.
But something went wrong.
Instead of exile, he woke up on the Nemesis—Megatron’s warship. Mid-war in the past.
Though it's just a nightmare, right?

Summary
Alternate look at how Season 1 Episodes 13 and 14, “Sick Mind” and “Out of his Head” could have played out. It doesn’t follow the structure of the episodes exactly, but I’m trying to keep it somewhat similar. After entering Megatron’s mind to find the cure for Optimus, Bumblebee realizes that the leader of the Deceptions somehow managed to escape and enter his mind. Before he can alert the others he is overpowered by the Deception leader. While Bee battles with the warlord internally, the rest of the Autobot team scramble to try and help him on the outside. They also grapple with various feelings of guilt. To make things worse, Megatron is using various nefarious tactics to keep Bee from gaining control again, and it’s starting to take a toll on the Autobot.

Unfortunately for him, it seems they have still sent his irritating ex-Decepticon companion with him. If ZB-Seven is being honest with himself, this is the last person he wants around today.
Expect, things are not as they seem, and the two of may be heading to meet more than meets the eye. Today they are not just trying to fix their future, but also their past.
This fic takes place during the time-skip in chapter 36 of my other fic: Transformers Refugees, though reading that is not required to understand what’s happening in this one.
