Summary
Had they really won? Or was it only an illusion of freedom, as everyone gawked at Jericho's makeshift base in disbelief, disgust. What did it cost them to get their newfound freedom? What would it bring for the future? People wanted to be optimistic, pretend like they'd be accepting of androids. Connor knew the truth though, saw the way androids were spat on. Pushed around. Sent to kill other androids.
Connor didn't feel 'free'. And he sure as hell didn't know how to deal with his emotions that hit him like a truck. He wasn't the perfect little android that Cyberlife created anymore. He was his own person, his own man. Human. He had to learn how to live, for himself. Without guidance from some outside source. No tasks, no missions. Only his objective.
This is the one where Hank finally learns how to move on from Cole, Detroit deals with the aftermath of the revolution, and Connor finds what he's really always wanted; a family.

No one chooses to be put on this planet. You’re granted life without requesting it, and when you ask for a refund, you’re given a non-answer and told to figure it out yourself. Simon didn’t ask to be brought back. He doesn't want to feel like a trophy to rectify the guilt his friends held. You’d think getting a second shot at life, having played the demo and having more guidance than he did the first time, Simon would be happy to be back. But, he isn’t. And that makes him feel ungrateful— but the biggest problems he faced before dying are now staring right back at him. Because it’s Markus. Markus has always been his number one problem.
His love was blinding, and it captivated him, and suffocated him. Of all the damn files corrupted, his feelings for Markus survived, because of course. It’s like someone was purposely punishing him. This was scarier than accepting death, accepting that he couldn’t be the twinkle in Markus’ eye, that he’d never see him in the same light Simon did. Markus couldn’t make up his mind, ever. Even now, he played with Simon because he knew he wouldn’t walk away that easily. He couldn’t deal with this again, his heart was too damn sore.

“Are you high?” Hank retorts. Connor pushes on.

Hank chews some more, swallows and looks down at the burger in his hands. “Not anymore, really.”
