But there came a strange sense of yearning following Lt. Anderson's death. Following the unceremonious mourning of the lieutenant whose station-organized funeral only involved the small lit tea candles on every desk that made the police station reek of french vanilla bean like a Bath & Body Works and the pathetically ceremonious funeral which only involved the police department — now outfitted in an appropriate-enough attire of black with specks of white shirt collars and a dog who couldn’t seem to stop whining, one who refused to leave the side of a casket even if the cover had been closed. The funeral director must’ve decidedly kept it closed even if Lt. Anderson was alive and well. Even past the halfhearted mumbles of his colleagues — or superiors — paying their respects and wishing Lt. Anderson the best, would Connor feel even a speck of shame in expecting to see at least one family member of Lt. Anderson to be present at his last day on earth? The low hanging of his head the entire procession told him so, facing the ground like a guilty dog who had even the most remorse for the dead.
Hank is dead and yadda yadda! Or is he! He is! Mostly!
