He’d really only been just starting to have a presence when the heroes cornered him about it. Surprisingly, instead of attempting arrest, they’d recruited him. And who was he to say no to free access to the hero database and nice bathrooms?
    One power per secret identity, that was his rule, and he still had a couple more up his sleeve. The heroes could have one. As a treat. He was generous like that. He’d just take more care to keep his other identities off the radar.
    Simple.
    If only things worked out as planned. Somehow, it hadn’t taken long for his next vigilante persona to be noticed as well, though not by heroes this time.

His eyes don’t catch the light and he hardly blinks, like his eyes are not eyes at all but a pair of pinhole cameras through which the Federation intently watches Cellbit’s every move. He wears his suit jacket open, dark blue dress shirt popped at the collar, a gold chain glimmering in his clavicle. When Cellbit next inhales, the air is hot and suffocating.

Leo threaded her fishing pole the way he showed them, attached the sinker and swivel, pressed the bait into the sharp end of the hook. Foolich showed her how to play. Leo shakily cast her line into the water the same way Foolich did, smiling the same way he did when Vegetta laughed and demonstrated again how to do it.

    She soaked in their actions like a sponge. She scrambled to catch up to them, to learn what they knew, to find her footing between her two fathers.

    One day, her hands would be as large as theirs. One day, she was going to have thick callouses like they had. One day, she was going to be rich and brave and beautiful and she would be the one to protect her fathers.

    She closed her eyes and took a breath. Her grip tightened on the handle of the fishing pole. She exhaled, the wishes clenched between her closed teeth, and cast her line.
