the cadence of the sentences in this is SO insanely good. like. soooooo captivating. so slow, so methodical. you do such an incredible job of escalating tension just from how you phrase things. that section that begins "Angel at a gas station." and the same imagine is described with different language multiple times? incredible. and oh my god the diner scene ... i did not know it was possible to put that! much! tension! into two guys not eating pie. that was incredible to read. i enjoyed it thoroughly.
