Summary
Buck hears the word once — in the wrong moment, in the wrong state of mind — and it sinks its teeth in. What should have been a passing comment twists into a truth he can’t shake, convincing him that everyone in his life is worn down by the weight of him. As he withdraws, slipping further into a quiet, dangerous spiral, the people who love him fight to remind him of one thing he can’t see on his own: he was never exhausting… only terrified of being left behind.
Exhausting (adj.): not someone who is too much to love — but someone too important to lose.

Summary
If you ask Eddie, he’d say his behavior has been totally normal. He’s a supportive guy who only wants the best for his..his best friend, yeah, right.
If you ask Buck, he’d probably have a very different opinion on Eddie’s behavior.
“You don’t seriously believe it, come on, Eddie -” he whines, slight panic in his voice, as he throws his hands over his head “- that’s why I brought you here, you’re supposed to say ‘Don’t be stupid, Buck, there’s no such things as ghosts. When someone dies, their soul leaves the place of death after some time, right?” He's currently following Eddie, tripping over his feet, trying to meet his eyes. “Right, Eddie?”*
Or, Buck finally finds a new house. Eddie tries to convince him the place is haunted, so Buck can stay with him a little longer. Along the way, he finds himself slowly drowning in a sea of yearning.

Summary
Eddie's gay. Which is fine. Great, even, at least Chris said it was.
Eddie has tried, really, really hard, to let Buck know how much he loves him. But every time he is close to, the damn fire alarm goes off. And he could wait, he could wait for the shift to be over so they can calmly talk about it when they are driving home, or when they are making dinner, or any other time. Scratch that, he actually can't wait, because he knows for a fact that, tomorrow, Tommy is going to ask Buck to marry him.
Eddie is losing his mind.

Summary
Eddie’s legs cross instinctively, trying—failing—to disguise the way his body is reacting
It’s uselessBecause Buck is breathtaking. He’s mesmerizing
From the way he looks, to the way he moves. From the teasing curve of his mouth to the way his fingers trail down the pole. From every split, every blink, every sway of his hips, every deliberate shift of weight. He’s lust wrapped in skin, and he doesn’t even have to try
And Eddie? Eddie is completely, utterly doomed.
“Hired,” Eddie snaps, without even thinking about his words. About the consequences of them “You’re hired”
Fuck

Summary
Eddie blatantly lies to keep this guy away from Buck without any reason. It's probably because of the alcohol. Alcohol makes him jealous, clingy, hot.
Makes him watch Buck bashing karaoke night like he is the last person in the world.
Strangely, makes him think too much about how good Buck looks.
And how much better he would look if he can get him home and rip off his clothes.
Nothing weird about it.

Summary
“Captain Morales.”
Eddie’s thumb nail digs into the meat of his palm where it’s tucked in his pocket. Phone to his ear, he scuffs the soles of his shoes against the floor by the couch, a nervous habit.
“Edmundo,” the man responds, voice rolling deep and smooth through the speaker. “I’d apologize for the late call, but I tried you at four reasonable times today, and got no response.”

“I can take pain” Eddie confesses, voice cracking “I can walk through fire, I can survive getting shot, but surviving what I feel for you—” He breaks off, chest heaving, the pain in his neck from trying to hold back his tears
“Surviving what I feel for you is the hardest bullet I ever had to take. And I couldn’t! — I can’t!”

Summary
As Eddie started tossing all the food from his fridge into an open black garbage bag, he idly wondered how many Our Fathers and Hail Marys it would take to absolve him of the monstrous sin of feeling excitement to go home in the face of such tragedy. Because going home meant attending the funeral of a father figure that meant the world to him and the rest of his work family. How was he supposed to come to terms with the fact that Bobby was dead, but here Eddie was, happier than he could ever remember feeling before?
OR
Bobby is dead and Eddie has trouble reconciling the sadness he feels over that fact with the excitement he has to be moving back home to Buck. As he's packing up to leave, he finds something he'd forgotten about at the back of his freezer.

Summary
“Evan,” he says, his voice low and dry with just a hint of mockery.
Buck looks up, startled. “What?”
Eddie’s hand is already outstretched, palm open. “You’ve been pouting for an hour. Get up.”
“Are you serious right now?”
Eddie raises an eyebrow. “Unless you’d rather keep sulking about your ex and talking everyone’s ear off?”- or -
Buck shows up to the firefighter charity gala without a date, three glasses of champagne deep, and still complaining. The 118 reaches their limit. Eddie reaches for his hand.

Summary
Chris is back with Eddie, but they are still in Texas. Eddie can't stop thinking about Buck and tries to find any reason he can to call or text him. He misses Buck and doesn't know why (yet). Buck is being sort of distant, which is driving Eddie crazy until Eddie decides to take matters in his own hands and start flirting with Buck over text. It doesn't work out exactly like he had hoped because Buck still thinks he's straight. Which....causes some problems. At least until Eddie shows up back in L.A and they fuck about it.
"oh my goddd, is that my dick? Did I just accidentally send that to Buck??? Did Buck see that??? fuck"
That quote will make sense as you start to read!

Summary
Buck huffs, he covers up the sound that forms in the back of his throat when the pillow rubs against his erection by chugging some beer
“Your leaking a bit down there” Eddie whispers to Buck, his tone way too innocent for the words he just blurted out
“Excuse me?” Buck utters in shock “I am what?”

Summary
After the confession, Eddie was more beautiful, laying in bed on facetime, wearing a rumpled up shirt and rubbing his eyes. “Morning, Handsome,” Buck said, watching him, eating another piece of the orange in front of him.
“Morning. I told you some things last night, didn’t I?”
“Yeah. Would you like me to pretend you didn’t?” He couldn’t. The confession would forever color every interaction they’d have, and Buck didn’t know how he could manage being his best friend knowing something else was possible.
“No, but, like…did I ruin everything with my stupid big mouth?”
