Summary
When Aramis joins the monastery, life goes on for the people he leaves behind. Queen Anne finds comfort in their son, and her friendship with Constance. The musketeers go off to war. But as time passes, they all find themselves missing their friend more than they want to admit. Aramis struggles to come to terms with the consequences of his actions until he learns to channel his energy and passion into something more constructive. Eventually, he rejoins his brothers as a priest and a medic, using his language skills to spy on the Spanish. As the war takes an increasingly heavy toll on all our heroes, emotions boil over. An attack on the barracks and the town of Tours demands retaliation, and Aramis makes a fatal mistake. Back in Paris, the war catches up with Anne and Constance. After rescuing the women they love, Aramis and d'Artagnan take refuge in the forest of The Ardennes, and Anne and Aramis get to experience the life that might have been... for a while, at least. Feron had never expected to be on Earth during the final assault, but when Liara had sent word of the final push to retake Shepard's homeworld, he couldn't stay away. He'd watched helpless as the Normandy was hit by a reaper shockwave. He'd watched helpless as the Citadel crashed to Earth. But he was the first person sprinting over the wreckage the moment the dust settled. Shepard had touched Kalahira's shore once and returned. If anyone could do it a second time, it would her.
Author's note: This is an edit and used to be part of 'Love is Suicide', a story I wrote back in 2019, and covers the aftermath of ME3. It can be read as a stand alone, though reading the first part expands on the relationships. Wonderland is another Natalia Kills song and I thought it was fitting). Apologies to those who have waited for this fic, I didn't intend to take so long to re-upload it!

Summary
The air was hot, the music loud and the lights pulsing. The club might have been heaviny, but it was also the perfect place for the crew of the Normandy to unwind after returning from the Omega Nebula. The mission may have been a success, but it had still been stressful, and Jayne Shepard... Alliance captain and Council spectre... needed the shore leave just as much as her crew did. She'd propped up the bar most of the evening, flirting up a storm with the turian bartender she was certain she would be taking home; until a distinctive, rainbow scaled drell caught her attention.

The commander’s smile grew wider, then she finished off the last of her drink and reached out to hand it to Liara. She’d been in charge of bartending since she’d offered to host something of a “blow off some steam” night. Shepard was easy to mix for; anything with rum or whiskey- a lot of it- and a juice of some kind or another.
“She means her biology and the biology of… well, Garrus’s, um, fluids don’t agree with each other, EDI,” Liara said, pushing herself to her feet.

Liara thinks, "Hell, let's have a girls' night!" except she's spent the last two years either mourning Shepard or maintaining contact via messages. She'd, woefully, forgotten the lengths at which Lee will go to embarrass them all.

I'm not sure how I can write my own fanfic after reading this. I had so many ideas, but the author blew me out of the water with his/hers. The author truly is a polymath, writing this with meticulous research and writing ability, incorporating convincing enough scientific knowledge that blends in with history. There are many philosophical debates in this series, and those drive the clashing themes of the story.
Originally I doubted the Control ending, but the author managed to fix it and gave me the closure I sought for (or I would have rioted: give me destroy). The author's explanation and development made Control a plausible choice in the end. Delivered in this way, the author successfully managed to change my viewpoint on Control (fixing relays is an important factor, and major obstacle to destroy, even with Happy Ending in mind). To be honest, it is a Control that turned into a destroy. The author expanded much on Asari culture as well, and I don't think I can envision Asari culture in any other way from now on. The author wrote huge amounts of OCs as well, and wrote their motives convincingly. Again, not sure how I can write my OCs without drawing inspiration (heavily maybe) from this fic.
The author sold me on the triangle relationship even, something I did not anticipate, and was written well, exploring the nuances of the feelings of Shep, Vara, and Liara. The author also answered some of my questions with regards to differences between asari and human lifespan. The only criticisms I really have about this series is how the author wrote Shep and Liara getting together aspect, but their relationship throughout the rest was a hell of a ride.

Saren Arterius, ex-Spectre now-professor at the University of Serrice, has been engaging in unscrupulous academic corruption, taking bribes and docking points off students he doesn't like. Shepard, also a professor and unable to stop herself from doing a good deed, throws herself right into the thick of it, vowing to stop Saren from sullying the academic integrity of Serrice.
It goes about as well as you'd expect. Which means to say, at some point, they end up in a firefight for their lives. That's just the Shepard Special.
