Summary
David Jacobs has always yearned to know about the world outside his refuge, but cautionary tales about horrible people that would exploit his magic for their own selfish means have kept him safe behind locked doors. But still there are questions he must answer that his caretaker refuses to explain. Like why are there always cascades of flower petals that blow in on his birthday and where do they come from? He's determined to find out and when a cocky thief stumbles his way into his home with a stolen crown, a wanted poster, and a drawing of David's flower petals, the inquisitive boy decides to take a chance to finally learn what he's been missing.
Basically the plot of Tangled with the Newsies cast of characters subbed in. I've taken a few creative liberties to give the story it's own flair and because I love to be dramatic. Enjoy!

Summary
Jack and the other Newsies leave the Refuge, an orphanage with an abusive history, to enroll in a local boarding school in Manhattan. There, Jack meets a boy named Davey, whom he develops romantic feelings for, though he doubts the boy likes him back. Davey develops a crush on Jack, too, but is also unsure if the feeling is mutual. At the Manhattan Boarding School, the Newsies face all sorts of new challenges ranging from self-discovery to blooming romance to the typical struggles of academic life. Some trouble arises when the boys meet the Delancey brothers, the biggest bullies at the school. Witness the Newsies' progress through love, conflict, and curricular life.

…So the break up was unexpected. Katherine had realized she just wasn’t into him… anymore. A part of him was glad, but most of the parts were depressed. Another part of him was slowly building up its courage and confidence even though he tried to suppress it. He had loved Kath. And now, for some dumbass reason, he loved Davey. He tried to ignore it. Every time he thought it, he bit his lip until it hurt and told himself no. A relationship like that would never work.
Along with that, unexplainable pains in his throat have been throwing him off, along with splitting headaches. On top of that, he started coughing up blood and mutilated flower petals 2 days ago. He didn’t get what it meant, and he was scared.
“Heya, Dave? You- you’s in school, right?” He asked one day as he and Davey were handing out papes. He put his hat in his bag, counting how many papers he had left as he asked. “Since the strike, yeah. Why?” Davey had replied, cocking his head to the side and grinning. Damn that smile. Damn everything about that boy that made Jack want to be with him forever. Davey obviously doesn't like him. He knew this. So why couldn’t he just stop loving him?

“Or whatever,” David repeats, giving Jack an unimpressed look. His head tilts just slightly to the left, and Jack watches David’s gaze look him up and down, like he’s sizing him up. Like he’s looking for his next meal, and Jack is the sorry piece of shit in his way. “Text me. I’ll see you on Wednesday.”
