Summary
Gojo Satoru is newly 23, newly single, newly sober, and newly the father to a troubled four year old.
Satoru was living the high life. If you consider the high life getting high to avoid all of the troubled feelings about his troubled past. But, after the accidental murder of a certain well-known assassin (who just so happened to have a kid)- he has to reevaluate his priorities.
Parenting isn’t easy… especially when the kid doesn’t legally exist, and Satoru has to jump through several not very legal hoops to keep him. Because Megumi is Satoru’s kid now, it’s not like he’s just gonna give him up.
No matter how many jobs he has to take on, or how many times Megumi throws up on his shirt- or how many crime lords he has to deal with- he won't ever give up on this kid. No way in hell.

“What? That no one wants me?” Satoru bristled, thinking Suguru must be pitying him again. “Never give me that placating bullshit. Someone would have to be blind, deaf, and fucking dumb to want me.”

In which one New Year’s kiss causes Satoru to become very caught up on things he’s never wanted before and the many experiences he’s never had. The fantasies cut a little too deep, however, when they blend the lines of his friendship with his best friend, Suguru, and leave him ashamed and confused. It's just Satoru's luck then to be stuck spending his summer with the exact person he never wanted to show his face to ever again but still feels like home.

Being a parent was something the two had talked about but agreed to wait until college was out of the way at least. Life said that’s funny here’s a little kid, with the same eyes at Satoru’s recently passed best friend, and the same scowl as the man who caused her downfall. He swears he’ll be everything Megumi needs to be healthy, safe, and well adjusted. But when you’re 24 parenting seems easy. Little does he know how hard it can truly be. Especially supporting a child who’s suffered incredible loss and isn’t able to comprehend why his real father isn’t there to raise him. It will take time, love, and patience. But as Gojo stares at the little boy, all worries melt away. He’s gonna do it right.
Just a bit of warning: this fic is not abandoned or hiatus. Author, aka me, sadly struggles with a nasty chronic illness that makes writing a slow process for me.
