Summary
Netto and Rockman have long known about their ability to enter a full synchro state unique to them, made possible by a connection so deep that they effectively become as one. And despite there being no more threats, the two still keep in practice when it comes to netbattling, even practicing with this full synchro state.
Everyone is expecting the thunderstorm one night - the weather control systems were made to cause it. But that was all it was supposed to be, a thunderstorm. No lightning.
And yet, a lightning strike hits Akihara Town, taking out the power while the two are in sync netbattling. The PET gets Rockman safely back through an emergency jack out, but unconscious - Netto falling unconscious too because of the link.
Neither of them are expecting anything out of the ordinary when they wake up... in the wrong places.
