He's always hated the taste of cigarettes, even if it clashed with his "punk lifestyle", as his mother would say. But he had a healthy dose of fear of lung cancer from being the son of a nurse, and so he devised a genius plan-smoke fake cigarettes. Herbal ones, like the kind they used in Hollywood so that actors didn't smoke themselves to death reshooting. He got to look cool, and if anyone asked, he could peddle a story about recovering from nicotine addiction, so no one could question him without looking like an insensitive ass.
His co worker, Ivan, at his part time cafe job, had taken an interest in his band. Ivan started showing up to every show, effortlessly sexy and cool and an actual smoker, unlike Till, who was a fraud. Under the intensity of the most handsome man he had ever seen, would his cover break? Would he be humiliated and revealed to be a poser? Would he also have to confront his buried bisexual fantasies? It was anyone's guess, really.
