Christmas was more than just a time of community for Gotham, it was more than just a reminder that Gotham would not be defeated by its mindless violence. It was a sacred time, carved out by his parent’s promise to return home to see him for the holidays.
At the thought of his parents returning, a smile broke out across his face as childish excitement filled his body. It had been quite a long time since he had seen his parents.

Tim loves Christmas because it means the promise his parents will come home and he gets to watch as the loving communities that come together during the holidays finally meets his own home. However, as Christmas arrives he gets a phone call that makes him question how much his parents value their promise, as he's left alone in his dark home for Christmas.
