Summary
Keith has never been so nervous--not while fighting the Galra, and certainly not while flying a massive metal lion--than he is to meet Lance's family. It's stupid, he thinks, being afraid of a room full of people his boyfriend adores, but he's better suited for fighting, which is why he's glad he's only staying two weeks.
Lance is wrong three times: he thought returning home would be easy, he thought Keith had the same plans as him, and he thought he was done with the war.
Or: when Allura dies, they don't get to say goodbye. Grief, Altean marks, and all that follows.

Summary
Being in space was going fine until Keith developed a massive crush on his supposed rival. Now, securing an alliance with a planet goes awry when the resident aliens sense a romantic connection between Lance and Keith. Keith doesn't want to get his hopes up, but as the days wear on and they grow closer, Keith can see it, too. Is it all in his head or does Lance actually like him back? Can they work out their problems before they are fated to be joined together in a marriage ceremony or will Lance leave before Keith can reveal his true feelings?

“You’re Keith Kogane,” the woman states, looking up at him with a mega-watt grin, standing so close he can see the freckles splattered across the bridge of her nose.
Taking a step away, he nods. “...yeah.”
The rest of her friends have followed her over, and they form a half-circle around him. Keith’s gaze jumps from person to person. His arms are weighed down—laden with bags full of produce, snacks, and the jug of milk Lance reminded him to pick up on his way out the door—and he holds the groceries squeezed to his chest. Like a shield.
A shield that fails to protect him from their eyes.
Or, Keith gets recognized as the Black Paladin in public, and Matt comes to the rescue.

Keith smelled blood.
Being a paladin of Voltron, Keith was used to seeing and smelling blood. He saw it when he slashed and fought against the Galra and he smelled it on himself when he would get a little too reckless and a dagger would graze his arm or leg.

“Oh, nothing,” Shiro says, distractedly pushing around his goo. He sounds blasé, unbothered, but Keith recognises this tone of his, as rare as it is to hear it — the passive aggressiveness, the snooty way he speaks when he’s too furious to even yell, and just wants to make everyone around him feel stupid. “I just figured the person who abandoned her infant son without so much as a note is someone of the more irresponsible and immature variety. That’s all.”
Lance, who has never been capable of handling tenseness, stands abruptly and starts gathering the bowls and utensils of everyone at the table, regardless of whether they’re finished. Keith watches distantly as he quiets Pidge’s whining, firmly telling her to get up and bring it with her if she needs.
“She’s my mother,” Keith says through grit teeth. He pulls his gaze away from the red paladin, glaring at his brother. “I thought you’d be happy for me.”
Shiro finally looks up from his stupid goo, baring his teeth in a poor imitation of a smile.
“Thrilled,” he drawls.

Summary
Keith is not a fan of this supply run mission: the company (Lance, who won’t stop talking), the time waste (they should be looking for Shiro) and the shuttle (piece of junk next to the Lions). But when they crash and Keith is injured — and that might be understating it a bit but it’s hard to think and everything hurts and God make it stop— none of that matters anymore. What matters is that red is outside when it should be in and Lance’s hands and voice are so gentle but scared too and Keith is wondering if he’s ever going to see Shiro again. Otherwise… maybe he’ll see his pop.
