“Wild, no.” Twilight whispered, gripping his shoulder, but Wild merely smiled.
“You don’t trust me.” he stated, smile unwavering. Twilight bit his lip, glancing between Wild and the enemy camp. There were half a dozen armed and dangerous Bokolins just waiting for them to come within range, but Wild’s grin made it seem as if the idea of being riddled with arrows excited him.
“I don’t know what you’re planning, but it can’t be good.” Twilight said instead, earning him a huff of laughter.
“You’re no fun, Twi.” Wild simply said, only confusing the other more.
“That is a camp full of bloodthirsty Bokoblins, Wild! There is nothing ‘fun’ about it!”---

So when he watches Wind use his deku leaf for the first time, that begs the question: who else can fly? Most of them, apparently.

Ficlet 11 of my Tears of the Kingdom Countdown, for days D -3 to D -1.
Link, as a 12 year old prodigy who can already best fully trained Royal Knights in combat, is already rather famous around Hyrule Castle. Nobody suspected, however, that he was anything more than an exceptionally talented child until he confessed to one of his fathers that he can see and talk to Koroks and that a female voice in his head is calling him to the Lost Woods.
With the understanding that keeping him from the Sword that Seals the Darkness if he's indeed the one chosen to wield it would do no good to anybody, he's taken to the Great Deku Tree and to the Master Sword, to meet with his destiny.
