It was an odd situation they'd found themselves in. Selyse had burst into Jon’s small council with a letter and bid him read it with a screechy voice. Ser Justin Massey was coming north, it said, with an army of sellswords more than 20,000 strong to follow the final will of his deceased king and seat Shireen upon the Iron Throne. King Jon Stark, it said, was a traitor and in open rebellion against the rightful queen of the Seven Kingdoms. He would come, free the Dowager Queen and Shireen from their ‘captivity in Winterfell’, put down the rebel pretender, and march south.
“He will kneel.” Selyse promised. “When he sees you are R’hllor’s chosen! When he sees you are Azor Ahai returned! He will kneel.”
Jon did not want to hedge his bets on the supposed religious fanaticism of a man he hardly knew. Not when lives were on the line. He needed a solidified alliance, something rock solid and certain, with which to present Ser Massey. Nothing solidified an alliance quite like a marriage and so a marriage it would be.
(A royal wedding comes to Winterfell to ensure an alliance holds, and its not the one most had expected. They feast, they celebrate, and Winterfell becomes a beacon of warmth in the cold of winter)

Satin had made sure the wedding went off without a hitch. Aloisya deserved that much. When she had come to him, cheeks flushed and smile so large it must have made her face ache, Satin had known at once what she was going to tell him. Her new man had proposed, she told him. An honest woman, she’d grinned and twirled about his chambers in a burst of joy, I’ll be an honest woman. A wedded woman, Satin! Me! Me! And she had thrown her arms around him in joy.
Guests came and went. The door to the servant’s hall was in a near constant state of use, frequently swinging open as people found their way in to greet the bride and groom and enjoy a little free wine, or as they left for the night in good cheer. No one paid much mind to who was about, which house they served or what their job in the castle was. All were welcome to the food and drink. The more the merrier, Aloisya had said, isn’t that what a wedding is for? But when the door opened about an hour later and Jon Stark, King in the damned North, stepped into the room, all the music and the chatter and laughter had stopped.

“Of course. What are you working on?”
“My will.” He replied simply, motioning to the parchment.
“Your will?” Satin asked, eyes widening.
“Aye. I need one.”
(Satin returns to work with the help of a new face. Jon prepares his will and makes good on his promise to find a way to keep Satin safe more officially. A trip to the Glass Gardens seems a good place to start.)

She follows his gaze, noting the spear in his lap, and even from a distance she can see the runes and figures carved along the wood.
"A dream?" she repeats."Uh-hu," the boy murmurs, "the Heart Tree told us. We saw you. A Lady of stone surrounded by flames."

Summary

He never expected to ever come back. In fact, he expected to die there. But instead, his exhibition brings him face-to-face with magic more ancient than the First Men.
He kneels before a heart tree and begs for the life of the woman he loved the most. The woman whose heart he pierced with a dagger. But instead, he opens his eyes, and lying in front of him is a wailing child, with silver-blond hair and lilac eyes. A child that would have been born had he not plunged a knife through her heart.
But that is only the beginning.
As Jon navigates fatherhood alone, he discovers new things about himself and uncovers ancient secrets about a foe he thought once vanquished, all while the realm is on the brink of collapse once more, and in the East, a dragon has awoken and thirsts for Fire and Blood.

A depiction of the war for the north. It is largely based on the books, though may take elements from the show, though likely not in this specific story. Intended to be the first in a series. I will focus on battles and it being a war. Romance will be very limited in this one. Basically, a more realistic take (as realistic as a story with dragons and bear sized wolves can be), and fixing elements I wasn't a fan of. Also, no, I will not be going into Ramsay's brain because that brain scares even me, and I'm far from being a goody two shoes in video games. Anyways, please review.

The story follows what happens after that, describing a different War of the Five Kings, and unlikely alliances are made when Young Griff finally decide to travel west.There's a bit of a same sex relationship, so don't read if you don't like. but It will not be the focus of the story at all.
