George’s eyes momentarily flew shut as he felt bright lights streaming down at him, and it was only when they somewhat adjusted again that they saw a familiar sight before him. The Paris Opera fully booked out. But that couldn’t be, the performance had just ended, why was there a new audience, and new dancers here already?
“Ladies and Gentlemen," a sudden voice announces. It felt like it was all around him as George felt himself flinching, the stares he received not going unnoticed. “It is a pleasure to introduce the Paris Opera Ballet student company and budding class of 2025.”
George felt his blood run cold. “2025?” He said in shock, more to himself than anyone else. They couldn’t possibly mean the year.
It was 1805. 2025 was still over two hundred years away.

It’s dark right now, but in his mind’s eye, he can see it lighting up like the sun, hot and dangerous and so powerful Sapnap never doubts they’ll be able to face all the monsters that lurk underwater. The body is sturdy and dark, lined with golden plates that sneak down its giant flank and lead into what looks like a tail, long and curled like a snake against the floor. The head is all glass panes and rounded edges, catching the light that spills from the ceiling and refracting back like a prism. Sapnap feels his fingers tingle and he closes his hand around the railing, afraid he’s going to walk straight off the platform in his daze to see how the Jaeger will look from the inside. He bets it looks just as beautiful.

He was so done with it all. He was tired. He was exhausted mentally and physically. Everything was too much, but it wasn’t like the world was gonna slow down for him.
His eyes were slowly dropping shut as he laid on the couch. He was so exhausted. He didn’t want to go into his room yet though. It was a mess there. His clothes were everywhere. His parents had told him to put the stack away into his drawers so many times now, but he couldn’t find the motivation anywhere in him. His Halloween costume was laying on the floor, half finished. Paints and cardboard scraps surrounded the middle of his room, creating a mess of things that completely stressed him out. Stress. Oh yeah. That’s what they were talking about.

But thanks to his stage fright he had been unable to do theatre. Now he was content to just sit on the sidelines. Or at least, he was pretty sure he was content.
Shelby nodded in response, noting Tommy’s reaction. Then she stared off into the distance, looking like an idea was forming inside her head. Then she abruptly spoke and ran off. “I need to go talk to Mr. Dream about something, and then go read the script. Buh bye!”

It's Tommy's second year of being in tech and third year in high school. He loves everything about technical theater, but a part of him still longs to be on the stage. If only it weren't for his very prevalent stage fright.
