Summary
El stood and stared at the wreckage. She’d known it was bad, but this was way more than they’d expected. A whole lot more than she could manage, especially after just escaping Vecna. Defeated, she turned to look at her dad, taking in his tired face, with dull eyes carpeted by heavy bags and new scars he’d amassed since last summer. For the first time since they’d become a makeshift family, El noticed a sense of fatigue she’d never seen in him before, that felt deeper, and had settled into him easily, but crept up on her uncomfortably.

Angst and fluff of the extended party, a few at a time they all end up at Steve's place, but I don't think he has many objections :)
Each chapter will have a different pov character, and diving into some of their struggles, both internally and externally, so some of the chapters might end up being a bit of a character study.
As far as I can tell, none of the things I wanted to include fit together at any point in the shows canon, so I do what I like.

Mike Wheeler hasn't talked to Will Byers in months. It's been a whole year since his best friend of 12 years went insane- Spitting out nonsense about monsters and other dimensions. No one saw it coming, and it has never sat right with Mike.
A day after this awful anniversary, though, Mike receives a visitor: A girl who calls herself Eleven.Eleven steps into Mike's mind and shows him the truth: Will was never the crazy one after all. Somehow, by some great means, Vecna has erased any memory of the Upside Down from all the minds of Hawkins.
Mike, Will, and El restore the original party face the terrors of Vecna's influence once again.
Now, the question is, how do you restore the memories of an entire community? Do people even want these memories restored? And in a reality where it's possible to have your memory altered at random, how are they supposed to know what's real... and what's a trick of the mind?Oh and also Byler. I just wanted to write some crazy psychological craziness.

“You okay?” he asks, voice gravelly from sleep. Will seems... off, he thinks for a moment, but then he’s kneeling next to Mike and looking down at him and Mike has a hard time thinking about anything other than his eyes.
Despite his curiosity, he’s still so tired, and Will isn’t saying anything else, so his eyes fall shut again, just for a second or two. When he manages to pry them open again, Will is right above him. His knees are on either side of Mike, hands on his chest for balance, his face so close Mike can almost feel his breath.Or:

He decided to walk back to the Wheeler’s since it’s closer, and call someone to pick him up from there. The woods are starting to get dark around him, and cars passing by are getting few and far between. He picks up his pace, knowing that if he doesn’t call Joyce before she leaves work, she’ll absolutely freak out. He keeps walking, trying to stay away from the road, but in the light of the street lights.
