Dee didn't like the loud-dark-smelly city. Everyone was angry and scared, always hurting each other. But Dee liked his rooftop friend very much, with his gentle hands and warm leather jacket and funny too-small helmet that made him look like a half-eaten lollipop.
Jason just wanted the kid he found on the streets to be safe. Even if that meant bringing him to Wayne Manor and visiting him there in spite of Bruce's whole everything. Chickadee was the priority, and being a vigilante crime lord put Jason in no position to house a traumatized neurodivergent tweenage wizard.
No matter what he (and Dee, for that matter) wished for.

Steph is going to fucking die in the next few seconds and this really isn’t what she expected to happen to her when she left the ruins of her village.
At least she’ll have someone waiting for her on the other side, she thinks bitterly when something leaps.
Something, no, some one literally jumps out from who knows where and with one swing of their sword the monster’s head falls severed to the ground. The person doesn’t stop at that and takes care of the other monster’s that were right behind the one that nearly made Steph it’s breakfast.
They turn around and- it’s a girl? No, a woman. A Witcher.
Immediately her eyes stand out, a nearly glowing yellow with slit pupils, framed by black hair and features that Steph has never seen on anyone before. She’s petite and Steph guesses that she’s a bit smaller than her and looks like she shouldn’t have been able to deal with the monster as quickly as she did.

And yet, with several months to prep, that was still the best option he and Steph had found for a newly kidnapped Cassandra.

or; Cassandra gets to live a life without any blood on her hands, even if she has to microdose on solitary confinement first. Tim and Steph get a kid of their own, even if that does immediately make the bat situation more complicated. It's more then worth it, for both of them. Family always is.
