Harrow sucked air through their teeth. From here, in this bizarre runoff light between the streets, the porch and the hallway, they were just a silhouette with the faintest hint of human features. Judging from how top heavy and marshmallow-like that silhouette was, it seemed they had, in fact, found the sweaters. “Gideon…you’ve been out here for two hours.”
She opened her mouth to protest. Damn near lost her cigarette, too. Just as well since it was practically a stub. There were too many threads going through her head, too many realities she’d have to confront and make sense of. For at least one of those realities, she was more so hoping to just be rid of it for good. It felt an awful lot like too much, though, and there wasn’t a ton she could do about a lot of it anyway–just for tonight, Gideon wanted to stop thinking. Hell of a thing to desire after almost getting thrown in a ditch out in the sticks with a 9mm in the brain; maybe it didn’t come out right.
Industrial rocker Gideon Nav is faced with her terribly violent past. Days after a particularly rough moment in her fledgling relationship with Harrow, the pair are confronted with new turmoil that will test how far they are willing to go.
