Every one of my professors launched directly into lecture from my first day onwards, so all it was necessary to do was select a spot at the back of the room where I could sit with my knees touching my chest without anyone staring at me (the cost was that I couldn't see anything on the blackboard, but I could process information by ear anyway). I also contemplated bringing snacks, but I didn't want to leave any traces behind, so starving to death it was.
