Now don't get him wrong, Sidious usually accounted for a great many things.
Potentially causing the end of the galaxy with a highly dangerous bioweapon? Yes, precautions taken.
Grievous or Dooku possibly getting tossed into the vacuum of space before the end of the war? Not ideal, but he could adapt somehow.
Windu and Skywalker somehow becoming the closest friends...ever? force forbid that should play out or he may be doomed...
Skywalker taking interest in and later marrying Senator Amidala? Yes, perfectly in the plans.
Should work out just fine.

Picking and choosing people from multiple points in the timeline, whether they were one with the universe or not, and sending them back to a point in time where most of this timeline's problems originated.
Read as three groups of people whose lives are intertwined and connected through various ways, somehow figure out their place in a time where they're either very young or not even a thought in their ancestors' heads. They somehow bring the world to a more balanced time through increasingly unconventional means, and possibly the downfall of a few governments, syndicates, and factions. And how, even though they've met their younger selves and changed many things, the world has miraculously not collapsed in on itself.

An AU in which Obi-Wan does exactly that, and there can be no going back. And once the first Jedi falls, another and another follow like dominoes: shortly after, an abandoned Ahsoka gives into her feelings of betrayal and lets her pain feed her anger, while Anakin has no one left but Padmé, and the prospect of losing her will push him to terrible things.
But the axis of power in the galaxy has shifted, and it appears that Palpatine has underestimated the consequences of the damage he has wrought. Together, they will form a new galactic order and, for better or for worse, the universe will bend to their will...
