Summary
Hannibal Lecter is a vampire, and he has been considering making Will Graham the same for some time now. Unfortunately, at an alley way crime scene, someone beats him to it.
Will’s belief that vampires are inherently evil leads to him being incredibly self-destructive. Hannibal is determined to make sure Will is not the cause of his own ruin.

Matthew Brown hasn't been able to feel something else than malicious happiness and cruel anger for a while. Trapped in a copious routine, feeling like his life is emotionless, everything seems to turn around when Will Graham, the Chesapeake Ripper, gets caught and imprisioned in the mental facility Matthew himself works at.
From that moment on, their fates are sealed.
Or, what if Matthew had approached Will gently before commiting the murders? What if he had shown Will another alternative to solve his problems?

Summary
Will’s wrists, as he lifted his hand to his face, looked so incredibly tender, so brittle and delicate. Hannibal examined the way his ribs had began to poke through his chest, the way his stomach seemed to cave in slightly and his usually healthy face now looked sunken in and hollow. It was both the most beautiful, delicate thing he had ever seen and simultaneously grotesquely dichotomous to the Will Graham which he was usually so struck by, the confident man who would sit across from him week after week and make jabs at his psychiatry. Here he was, now, pliant and ill, in need of care. Who else, but Hannibal, was better suited to provide such, with how deeply he understood the needs of the man who lay before him?

When Will gets sick and doesn't show up to work for a week, Hannibal is struck with the most intense worry in the world for the younger man. Immense fluff and care commences.

He breaks from it, for a moment, where he wants to laugh at the simplicity his life has become. Something about it echoes that half-life he’d lived, dozing off on the couch with a wife and a kid, itching for something greater, for that dizzying slice across his stomach. Domesticity doesn’t suit him in the slightest - how he lives for a hand around his neck and bloody lips on his, for a sixty-foot fall down into the ocean. He sports the consequences with a sick sort of pride, pulls back his hair from his forehead and shows off that old, knowing scar, or relishes in the shudder of his lungs when he breathes in. An impulse strikes him, on occasion, that he should turn his teeth on the man who left him with a smile, bite and flee from him once again, start the game of cat-and-mouse anew. Would it not be comforting, that easy, familiar rhythm? They deny it, at night, when they hold each other in their arms, but he knows far better.
Will comes down with an illness. Hannibal is happy to abide, but the lamb isn't so sure.

On a whim, the workplace decided to celebrate with drinks at a local pub, so Will had no choice but to trudge along. Great. Not even five minutes in, and it looked like he was completely forgotten at the corner of the table. He was never a fan of the yelling, the mess, or the fact he’d sit there by himself in awkward silence regardless, so he might just slip through the back—no one would notice let alone miss him anyway.
Then, a certain suave man in a three-piece suit walks through the doors and into Will’s life. Plans change, and so do Will’s feelings about get-togethers.

If the situation hadn't been so concerning, the psychiatrist would've laughed out loud... But not now. Will looked up at him, his eyes darting around nervously, as sweat stuck to his forehead. He wiped it away with his sleeve and seemed to try and find his words but was ultimately unable to. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion and he turned around, checking his surroundings... Before he came to a realization. With a frown, he turned back to the other man.
"... This isn't Hannibal Lecter's house... And you're not Hannibal..."
"Obviously not-... My god, what did you do?"

The only thing that has always been able to put Will to sleep is a drive in Hannibal’s car. Willing to try anything, Hannibal bundles him up and they go for a midnight drive to Wolf Trap and back. Maybe the familiar road traveled will finally be enough for Will to get some real sleep.
