After one too many disastrous articles, pessimistic journalist Player Shiverquill is given one last chance to keep their job by getting an interview with the ‘famed’ explorer Elizabert Megafig, and her new discovery: Snaktooth Island’s edible creatures called Bugsnax. They plan on getting in and getting out. No myths, no monsters, no cryptids. And definitely no attachments.
That plan immediately collapses when they learn that Elizabert Megafig has completely disappeared without trace.
Banding together with happy-go-lucky mayor Filbo Fiddlepie, who’s been down on said luck since a big fight broke everyone apart, Player sets out to find all the grumps who left town, interview them, in hopes of bringing to light what has happened to Elizabert.
But as Player continues, more and more mysteries surround them and the island…and they learn that something sinister lies at the bottom of Snaktooth Island.
