    He counted. The silent click-click within his frame was not dissimilar to a clock, ticking away the time he had left.
    Starscream collapsed, in a heap, and took in air. Continuing was a necessity. It was more than an exercise in the physical. It was a mental exercise, in maintaining the proper perspective. Starscream would never be helpless, never again, not even as a prisoner."

    This is my S2 rewrite, which will be a Decepticon-centric (with STSC as the protagonist) take on some of the earlier plot threads in the season, branching off to have it's own unique plotline and antagonist in the end. Starting directly from the season 1 finale, and going over *why* the Decepticons supposedly ran off and betrayed the Autobots

    They didn’t interface in the alley and they didn’t go back to Prowl’s apartment, to Tarantulas’ open disappointment. Watching Prowl earlier in his office had proven fascinating; there had been two photos on his desk, and he had seen Prowl start fiddling with his lightpen before catching himself several times, an absolute novelty to behold. The cataloguing of the things that were different about this unformed person who would one day be someone he knew intimately had been a wonderful diversion.

    Tarantulas wants what he's always wanted - to have Prowl back as his muse, and to be Prowl's in return. But this time, Tarantulas isn't alone. He's found an ally in Tarn, who survived the Necroworld only to end up adrift after Megatron's execution. And, like many a Decepticon before him, Tarn finds that he likes the way Prowl's mind works.

    The war's been over for a millennium, Cybertron's slowly entering a new Golden Age, and Prowl's finally gotten used to being part of Devastator. Too bad there's no time to relax when some major unfinished business resurfaces in the form of two mechs he thought he'd never see again.

    After escaping the Noisemaze and finding himself, Tarantulas has been hard at work figuring out how to resurrect the dead.

    Scrapper doesn't get why Tarantulas needed to bring him back to life, nor does he care whatever happened with Prowl to necessitate it. His link to the gestalt bond that broke when he died is still painfully damaged and he can't feel the others through it. They're all safe, but Prowl seems to have taken his place while he was dead. Now Scrapper has no choice but to decide what to do with him. Unfortunately, dealing with Prowl won't be easy.
