Maestro is a top hero in L’Manberg. He’s well respected and a force to be reckoned with, especially with the rest of his team next to him. “Courteous”, “charismatic”, and “charming” are just a few of the words reporters have used to describe the hero.
Wilbur, well, he was just the asshole who played him.
Don’t get him wrong, Wilbur likes the gig he’s got. But he knows he can do more good for the world, by joining politics and writing legislation, rather then adorning flashy suits and punching criminals. But he can’t just retire from hero work and leave his team down a man and without the only person capable of fighting Dream’s powers of manipulation.
Luckily, the phrase “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain,” might be just the solution he needs.

Witnessing the world ending wasn’t on Technoblade’s bucket list. He was in the UK, studying abroad in a college as an English major and definitely had bigger problems like midterms or something when some mad scientist decided they could find a way to cure all viruses.
Whatever that man made, it definitely did not all viruses, not a single one actually. Instead of targeting viruses like it should have, it targeted living cells and caused them to mutate. Don’t ask him to explain that further, he is simply an English major, not biology.
It’s been about 3 years from then and he’d say he is doing great. He has friends, plenty of supplies, and shelter. Sure, he definitely did not expect to survive this long (with his obsession to fast food and video games..) but at this point it would embarrassing to die. Think about his reputation!
On a cold day in November, almost every group’s worst nightmare happens and he just wants a nap.

Tommy watches him disappear.

Techno was pissed, Tommy knew that. Lucky for him Tubbo knew that too. Tubbo also knew that Tommy could speak pigling, so they made a deal. A simple one really, Tommy would translate what Michael says, and Tommy teaches Michael English, and then pigling and in return, he could stay at the Beloved's main estate. There no one could touch him and he would be fed. So Tommy took it. Tubbo was overjoyed that his best friend would get to know his and Ranbo's son and would be living at his house, temporarily of course. It would be dangerous to keep him around Michael, with dreams out of prison and all. Ranboo felt similarly, It was so easy to keep an eye on the blond. It also made trades with Technoblade so much easier. Techno rubs his temples in frustration. This could go two ways. He could successfully pry the wither skull out of his foolish little brother's hands and call it a day, or they could become homeless within a matter of seconds.
“I told you to never go through my chests.”
“You should've kept it locked then,” Tommy smirks.
“I did!” Techno defends, though the more the blond speaks, the more unconfident he gets.
“Well, you should've stopped me from becoming a master at lock-picking,” Tommy counters. “What even is this thing?” he tosses the wither skull up in the air. A valuable artifact from the Nether, bestowed by chance, only to those who deserve it. Techno feels his guts start to twist as Tommy throws it around as if it were a benign, worthless rolled-up sock.

Tommy steals Techno's wither skulls, then proceeds to spawn and domesticate a wither.

He waits for Tommy to do something horrible like let out a damning scream, or something arguably less horrible like attempting to shove Techno off the balcony only to find out that he is, indeed, an untouchable spirit.
Instead, Tommy does something that has never been done before. He staggers.
“You're a robber,” Tommy whispers.
Techno stares at him, confuzzled. “Um, no. See, I'm not real. Watch this. I'm going to disappear in three, two, one..”
Techno passes through the wall, Tommy blinks as he does so, missing the moment completely, rather fortunately, because seeing a presumed thief dissipate through your walls is a one-way ticket to self-registering at the asylum.
“Holy fuck,” Tommy says underneath his breath. “Those shrooms I took were real.”

Despite the rather harrowing circumstances, despite everything that's happened, Techno cracked a smile at hearing that laugh. He'll always smile when hearing it.
After a few moments, they were back in silence.
" Techno?" Philza asked after a beat.
Techno turned towards the older man, silently prompting him to continue.
Philza looked exhausted, yet his gaze was as sharp and expressive as ever, cutting into Techno with its vulnerability.
"If I found you first and we didn't grow to be so... different, could you grow to accept Tommy, Wilbur, and me? Maybe, perhaps one day... love us?"
Techno found that he was unable to respond to Philza's question.
He couldn't give an answer that didn't exist.
So he elected not to respond.
The silence returned, somehow answering Philza's question with painful absolution.

Then, like a hypocrite he was, Wilbur took a deep drag. He exhaled, the same fog – smoke – staying in the air. The smell was disgusting, yet Wilbur refused to stop.
"I mean... I can't promise nothing, mate," Tommy said, then shrugged. Okay, maybe he was lying to Wilbur- Tommy just couldn't imagine himself in Wil's place, slowly killing himself with the poisonous tobacco sticks.
"Tommy-"
"But," Tommy carried on, an easy-going grin on his face, "if you quit, then maybe I won't."
Wilbur fell silent. Tommy didn't quite understand; how could you not be ready to drop something that was making you waste away?
(He had been thirteen, at the time. Too young to grasp the concept, to truly learn the dangers and complexity of addiction.)
"You know what? Okay," Wilbur agreed, and Tommy turned his head so fast that a spike of pain went up his neck.
"Wait, really?!"
