Rumi knew she was a girl early on. Despite telling her to hide her demon side, Celine was accepting of Rumi's gender identity. Rumi got all the gender affirmation and support she could ask for growing up. By the time Celine started searching for other girls to form the next generation of demon hunters, Rumi had been living totally stealth and passing herself off as cis with ease. Her new companions Mira and Zoey are trans too - it was Celine's idea to find trans women like her so they would better understand each other. Only problem is... Rumi doesn't know how to tell her new friends that she's not cis like they thought. How can she tell them something she's been lying about just as long as she's hidden her demonic heritage? How will she mend the bridge with Celine after her patterns are no longer a secret?

Rumi was thirteen the first time she tried to talk to Celine about it. The woman had been on the couch looking over budget sheets when Rumi quietly came up behind her, “Celine, could I talk to you about something kinda important?”
“Not right now, Rumi.” Celine frowned and narrowed her eyes as she tried to calculate, “I’m very busy.”
“Right, sorry.” The girl murmured and went back to her room. She went to bed without dinner that night, told Celine she wasn’t feeling when she had come to get Rumi to table.
Rumi tried again when she was fifteen. “Celine, I’ve been thinking and doing research and I think - I’m pretty sure I’m tra-”
“Busy.” Celine said as she moved quickly around her room, packing her bags, “I need you to start packing, the Honmoon found the other two hunters.”
Rumi’s shoulders slumped and she nodded, “Okay.” She shuffled to her room and pulled out her suitcase. Her heart ached, her eyes stung from the tears. Maybe she was wrong, if it were as important as Rumi felt it was she should just tell Celine she has to stop and listen.

"You start acting out the minute that collar goes on." Mira grabbed her muzzle in one hand, fingers threading through the wire and pulling her head forward and down. "You beg me to put it on you, and then you won't even be good for me."
Rumi's tail wrapped around Mira's thigh as she pushed against Mira's hand with a purr. She could talk, if she wanted to, but that took the fun out of it.
