There are three things Tsukishima Kei knew to be true. Three facts of life he stood by and never questioned.
1. Volleyball.
The sport was always there for him and provided comfort and familiarity, even if he didn’t find it as fun as he used to anymore.2. Yamaguchi Tadashi was his best friend.
Kei wasn’t one to make friends very easily with his aloof demeanor and sarcastic as well as harsh quips. Somehow, Yamaguchi glued himself to Kei’s side all those years ago despite this, and even caught onto some of Kei’s less favorable personality traits.3. Kei likes girls.
He has to, right? He’s never questioned what his future would look like because it was simple. His mother expected him to find a nice girl to get married to and settle down with. They would start a family, Kei would probably be working somewhere like the Sendai Museum, and life would be fine. No, scratch that, life would be good of course. Great, even.{or} Tsukishima Kei never bargained for falling in love with a boy, especially not the former Nekoma team captain and current JVA employee Kuroo Tetsurou

Kei Tsukishima has always known what he wants in life. Sadly for him, what he wants and what he loves don't always go hand in hand.
He has one rule: whatever happens between Tadashi and himself, it can't be called a romantic relationship. Commitment is something that cannot be part of his daily life, and this one may go upside down once he discovers there are different ways to love than the ones he already knew. It may be his last year in college, but Kei's life is about to prove him that no career or job matters more than what lays next to him. The only problem is that he may have to care about more things and people than those he always expected. And discovering so... may not be so bad, after all.

It all started at the beginning of first year, when Tsukishima began to feel weird—not bad weird, but the kind that made his skin feel too tight in a good, awful way. He couldn’t pinpoint what was happening, but something was definitely off.
It was weird to catch himself staring at Yamaguchi during class, during lunch, during practice. Weirder that when Yamaguchi laughed—really laughed—Tsukishima felt... warm. And not like a fever. Like something blooming. Which was gross. He knew he shouldn’t be feeling like this; it was wrong that’s how he grew up.But those feelings didn’t stay quiet for long.
