Summary
After breaking out of a HYDRA lab, Steve and the Winter Soldier are recruited by a guy in an eyepatch claiming to work for a government agency called SHIELD. He wants the two enhanced men's help in stopping a rampaging demigod, Loki, from taking over the world. Steve, while inclined to help, is worried about the Soldier. He knows his old cellmate Bucky is still in there somewhere, but there's a lot of fucking damage between that American sergeant and the terrifyingly compliant weaponized human that he now has in his charge.

“What happened, Papa? What happened to you? Why did you do this?” he asked in a small voice, slightly scared of the answer.
Loki sighed and dropped his head. He knew he would have to explain this to his son, but that did not make it any easier. He did not want to reveal this weakness. And even though Tony was a grown man now, he would always be Lokis little boy. He still wanted to protect him, so he didn’t want him to know about the things he went through over the last few years, especially the last one.
Loki and Tony finally reunited, but why did Loki attack New York?
Despite being uncomfortable with it, the god reveals the truth to his son and the rest of the Avengers in the process.Series

“Don’t worry, I can handle myself.” You shoot him a crooked grin. You probably looked a bit deranged, with blood in your teeth and dirt all over.
He looks at you a bit sceptically and then at the aliens he had slain for you.
“Most of the time.” You amend, pushing off the railing and walking towards one of the fallen enemies. “My gun overheated, but,” you pause, picking up a new weapon, “I have a new one now.”Aka, the Avengers had help during the battle of New York, you become an honorary member and despite a slight hick-up along the way (read: getting infected with an alien virus), you get invited to an Avengers party
