Summary
Jinx Lane is obsessed with Luxanna Crownguard.
She was absolutely perfect, a shining light amidst the darkness that was in Jinx's life. They weren't really close. To be clear, they weren't close at all. They had probably only spoken twice to each other but it was enough to make Jinx fall. For the first time someone had noticed her. She wasn't some weird freak or practically invisible. And while Jinx knew her fascination with Lux came from wanting to be like her, she knew that it came with wanting to be with her deep down.
Her obsession takes a new level when Jinx decides to break into Lux's apartment, wanting to be close to her. And maybe take some items that would remind Jinx of her. It starts off successful but it's not long before she's confronted with an unexpected and horrible surprise. Lux comes back home and instead of calling the police, she knocks Jinx out and when Jinx wakes up again, she's tied up in Lux's bedroom with no chance of escape.
As Jinx will quickly learn, she wasn't the only sick person. Lux was just as crazy as her. Actually... she might be worse.Bookmarked by Elzilcho

“Am I correct in assuming that your new outlook on life isn’t agreeing with you, Miss Kiramman?”
She winced. “Tell me what you’ve done to me. Now.”
“If you must know the details, I’ve injected you with a new variant of shimmer that I developed. It’s a particularly potent mix, capable of healing life-threatening wounds.”
“I got that, just…” Caitlyn winced again and pressed a hand to her forehead. She was so angry that she could hardly think straight. “How long does it last?”
He laughed, and this time it seemed genuine.
“Oh, Miss Kiramman. It lasts forever.”
Caitlyn is caught in the blast when Jinx's firelight bombs go off on the bridge. She winds up in Singed's lab, where he has a rare moment of compassion and decides to save her life, just as he saved Jinx. With shimmer coursing through her veins, Caitlyn falls from Piltovan grace and into the arms of the only person who can understand what has happened to her.

When Caitlyn got her soulmate mark, she thought it was a joke from the universe. Or a scheme against her.
An heir to the richest family of Piltover, she was terrified that as soon as people discovered that the letters on her wrist said "Powder" they'd accuse her of being a drug addict. So for years she hid the mark from everyone's sight as well as her own, giving up on the idea of ever meeting her soulmate.
Yet after she had met the mysterious Powder, Caitlyn couldn't bring herself to think of anything else other than why that girl was so damn rude.

Summary
Contrary to popular opinion, Jinx has a good understanding of what's going on. Piltover and Zaun have been at war longer than anyone still living remembers. Zaun is losing. As princess, her responsibility to the kingdom is to do whatever it takes to keep that from happening.
Whether that means sitting in her dull-as-anything lessons, playing nice with Piltover, or getting better with her knife, she'll do it. Though she has her preference, of course; she's never been one for those courtly graces. It doesn't matter that the princess is different than she was expecting, that she seems to trust Jinx, that there's more to this deal than either side is willing to admit.
If anything, that should make it easier.
