Years ago, the Runeterra Galaxy was engulfed in the bloodiest war in recorded history.
The Allied Systems—Piltover, Noxus, Demacia, and Ionia—set aside their differences to pursue a goal of order and control. Opposing them was a coalition of systems dreaming of freedom: Zaun, Bilge, Targon, Shurima, and Freljord. Together, they formed the Federation of Liberated Colonies.
The war dragged on for years, until the final day: The Glassing. After a peace envoy ship from the Allies was reportedly shot down in Targonian airspace during the ceasefire between the collectives, the Allies retaliated with devastating force. They unleashed The Monolith, a superweapon composed of orbital lasers capable of leveling entire continents. Targon, the capital of the Federation, was leveled. The entire Federation leadership, including its general, Vander Warwick, was annihilated. The surviving systems surrendered within days.
That day is remembered not as a tragedy, but as Restoration Day.
Ten years later, Vi Lanes, the adopted daughter of Vander Warwick, and her crew traverse the galaxy in his ship, The Gauntlet, chasing credits wherever they find them. This latest job? They’re in for more than credits.

How will the two manage what life is about to throw at them, when they themselves have just figured out how to exist after the war? Will Vi have it in her to hunt down the Shimmer tycoon, or will she have to let it, and all possibilities of knowing she avenged her family rest for good?

“I got that, just…” Caitlyn winced again and pressed a hand to her forehead. She was so angry that she could hardly think straight. “How long does it last?”
He laughed, and this time it seemed genuine.
“Oh, Miss Kiramman. It lasts forever.”
Caitlyn is caught in the blast when Jinx's firelight bombs go off on the bridge. She winds up in Singed's lab, where he has a rare moment of compassion and decides to save her life, just as he saved Jinx. With shimmer coursing through her veins, Caitlyn falls from Piltovan grace and into the arms of the only person who can understand what has happened to her.

“How dare you-” Caitlyn's snarling yell wasn’t far off Ionora’s but it was unfortunately cut off by a familiar exasperated voice.
“Cadet Kiramman, Cadet Lanes. Stop this at once, it's childish.” She straightened immediately and turned. Grayson stood a few metres behind her, there was a look in her eye Caitlyn couldn't quite place. A way off she could see her huge black dragon, Ahri, hunched over where she must’ve landed while Caitlyn and Vi were distracted.
“Yes Commander, sorry for disturbing.”
“Sure thing, Commander.” Vi replied casually. Then under her breath as she passed Caitlyn to stand by their instructor, scarred lip twitching with that smug smirk she practically owned at this point, “suck up much, Cupcake?” Caitlyn bit her tongue to stop the retort that rose in her throat.

The school has threatened to fire her for her questionable teaching methods, looking after her misbehaving sister with Vander in hospital is getting tough and most importantly the troubled kids she's dealing with. Particularly a boy with a prestigious surname.
