Summary
Merlin and Arthur meet when they're just little boys. They grow up together and become best of friends until everything goes wrong. Uther forces the two apart but merlin never knows why.
Years later the two meet again only now they each have their lives. Arthur wants to get to know Merlin again but Merlin is still hurting. Arthur has to win Merlin back and in the process come to terms with his own sexuality.

It turns out her physical form has broken through dimensional planes and emerged in an alternate reality. As Uhura navigates this new version of the Enterprise, it becomes clear there are pitfalls to be found amongst a crew she once counted as family. When Arthur returns Merlin is there, waiting, as he has been for centuries. But Arthur can't stand being a burden to his friend he knows has suffered the tests of time. He doesn't want to be overwhelmed by the changes to his home, doesn't want to be confused by new technology, but Merlin thinks he knows how to help. He'll just share all of his knowledge of the world with a spell.
Neither of them were planning on Merlin sharing his memories as well.
