Lysatra was so unlike Csilla’s icy vistas and howling winds, so far removed from the glaciers and long nights Thrawn had grown up with, that Thrawn began to question for a moment his plan to send Eli to his homeland, for how could a man from a world so warm and sunny ever thrive within Csilla’s frigid embrace? Sokka isn’t stupid. Not that his sister is, mind you (at least, he’d never call her that to her face now that she’s honed her waterbending), or any of the rest of Team Avatar, although sometimes it feels like he’s living in a different world from the rest of them — a world where running out of food means starving, and walking into a town full of firebenders with the Avatar in tow will get you killed, rather than help you free a beaten-down Earthbender colony.
Anyways.
Sokka isn’t stupid, which is why he laughs directly in Aunt Wu’s face when she tells him that he will marry the Fire Lord.

He had to get closer, maybe fly in circles around him a few times, or even steal his hat, just to see what the other would do. A partnership with someone far removed from his family sounded exactly like the thing he needed.
