Summary
The Songbirds and Hawks have been in conflict of late, a war blooming between the kingdoms following the attempted murder of Elysia, Princess of the Hummingbirds and promised bride of the Hawk Queen. Hua, a young songbird adept at magic no hawks or eagles can grasp, is captured in her village and sold to the queen of the rivaling kingdom as a source of information.
Except, of course, Eden isn't so keen on treating her as a slave just like that.
Different cultures clash, expectations are not met and hilarity ensues as two idiots try to understand what it means to be a family when they're both supposed to be enemies.
Oh, right, and Hua's real family is looking for her too.

Although the world was never anything close to a utopia for omegas, even before the dead started walking, afterwards things got downright dire. Generally smaller and more prone to stress, it's no surprise that they're the first ones to be cast aside and left for dead. And any packs that they do end up within tend to go even worse.
Techno's seen it himself enough times to know. It's firsthand knowledge.
Luckily for Techno, the majority of his childhood was spent in extremely high stress scenarios, malnourished and never feeling safe. Which means that all of his omega nonsense is so stunted that he practically isn't even one! He is set on keeping everyone under that impression, no matter what it takes.
Even if this new pack seems startlingly different from everything that he was used to before.

The engine quickens whenever the world seems to slow and Stelle is bored, just as unable to stay still. The Express fashions the tracks in the exact length of Welt’s feet and they lead, more often than not, to a place with at least one library for Dan Heng these days.

Stelle doesn't know either, but she is going to figure it out, because Dan Heng looks like a sad puppy and March isn't here, and if she has to contemplate her situation any harder she's going to have a fantastic breakdown.
