Summary
He was disoriented, he could barely tell which way was up or down. The world spun, slightly, and he could feel the way his deep wounds burned. He slapped his hand onto them and shakily pulled it back, the skin around it was blackening quickly as it swelled. Soon it became charcoal-black, and the flesh of his side hardened and cracked, flaking off, revealing a multitude of bloodied layers of skin.
The image was grisly, and he couldn't hold it in anymore, so he threw up his lunch, not having the choice to force it down. The pain was excruciating. Ajax couldn't think. He couldn't breathe. All he could do was stumble back, dizzy and nauseous, as he couldn't keep himself stable.
"I'm… going to die here..."

His eyes followed the same trend. The left eye had pitch-black sclera, while the other was, for lack of a better word, normal. But the irises held his attention, for they were as dark and blue as the brightest and purest of sapphires. The pupils were the shape of a star, allowing him to bask in the brilliance of this man.

John Constantine told them not to do the thing. They did it anyway.Or, Danny gets summoned by the League, and he actually kind of adopts them in the process. Because these big city heroes don't know anything about ghosts and who is he if he doesn't help them out? Besides, the Watchtower is in space. Danny's always wanted to go to space...
(I'm not really following any specific JL timeline, so like. Be prepared for 98% of everything to be *made up* and possibly *not real*.)

A look of confusion covered Shadow Milk’s face, stained with a tinge of hope. He listened to the sound of Black Sapphire and Candy Apple yelling in the background, trying to distract himself from the warmth of the sun shining in front of him.
He should have immediately said no. “Curse you,” he’d have said. “Liar.” But he didn’t, because Pure Vanilla’s warmth was akin to freezer burn, coming to a cookie that hadn’t felt anything warm, anything compassionate, in so, so long. Just once, maybe, he could accept a helpful hand. Just once, he could let Pure Vanilla in. What could he lose, if he didn’t have anything to begin with? So in a moment of weakness, he choked out:
“…. Friend?”

Summary
Once Celestia starts to awaken, they decide to punish Venti for avoiding the role he swore to wear, using him as an example.
Consequently, he is cursed to: assume he is Barbatos, and participate in the ruling of the city; use the Archon outfit when acting in official capacity, and always have his wings out, unable to hide them anymore; Since he mingled with humans so much, now he will be forced choose between pain, or seeking proximity;
At first, it feels like an embarrassment and betrayal of everything Venti stood for. He wanted Mondstadt to be free of gods, and feared being treated differently once the people he knew found his identity. What would they think once they saw the pathetic state of the wings of their Archon?
And besides, love was a feeling that should be given freely.
Over time, that love proves to be what sets things right. Mondstadt is still free, and the nature of Venti’s bonds flourishes beyond what he ever dreamed of.
