“Are you trying to shake hands?”
“Yes, I thought—”
Ed blinks. “Through a glory hole?”
“Oh Christ,” the man allegedly named Stede says, “I’ve messed this up already, haven’t I? I’m so sorry, Jeff, just forget I—hang on—damn.”
It's a glory hole meet-cute! Multiple chapters of Ed and Stede falling in love through a hole in a bathroom wall. Sex, feelings, pining, bad decisions -- all contained within. Now COMPLETE.

Summary
Really, Izzy thinks, up against the back wall of Jackie’z with Stede Bonnet’s tongue down his throat, he should have expected this.
Stede's obviously had a rough day. Before he can do something stupid (like, for example, pick a fight with a Pirate Queen), Izzy tries his most reliable technique for defusing tense situations: a quick, easy hookup out back.
It goes better than planned.

Post-S2 E7, Ed has left and Izzy's escorted Stede back to the ship (no Zheng, no clocks).
Izzy only has one method for dealing with being left by Ed, and it's better Stede fights him than half of the Republic- right? Unfortunately, it turns out Stede is just as in to giving a beating, as Izzy is into taking one.
“I don’t want to hurt you,” Bonnet gasps.
Izzy takes in his burning gaze, the set of his brows and the blood in the stubble on his chin.
“S’just us here, Bonnet.”
A frown forms between those glittering eyes.
