“Well, part of it is for administrative reasons,” Varka admits. “But part of it is because, well…” He sighs, leaning back in the plush backing of his chair. “I’ve never had a son of my own, but you’re the closest thing I’ve got to one.”
Kaeya blinks, not entirely sure how to process such a statement. It’s not that he doesn’t believe it to be true—the fact of the matter is that ever since the night Crepus Ragnvindr died, Varka had taken Kaeya under his wing, given him a place to live, and more or less done all the other little things a parent might do for his child. And still, to hear it admitted aloud is quite a strange thing.
“What do I do now?” he asks, more to himself than anything else. “I have nowhere else to go.”

All in all, the Knights of Favonius are presently a mess, everyone is stressed and overworked to Celestia and back, and these Abyss Mages happen to be today’s target of Eula’s ire.
And yet, she never gets the chance, because out of seemingly nowhere another figure has appeared, donning a black cloak and mask and killing all of the remaining Abyss Mages in one fell swoop.
Sheathing her claymore and muttering under her breath, Eula swears a solemn oath of vengeance. Mark her words, this man will be found out. And when she finds him, Eula is going to give him hell.

That news would most definitely bode well with the citizens of Mondstadt.”
“Certainly not,” Albedo muses, absently doodling in an open notebook. “The charges against me may have been false this time, but were our origins to get out…” He taps his pencil against his lower lip. “The legends told to the people of Teyvat do not look kindly upon our own.”
