Summary
The problem isn't that Neil is dying. The problem is that Neil doesn't dare to hope, and Eva refuses to let go. The problem is that Neil and Eva are both equally bad at honesty and asking for help. The problem is that Neil knows how the story ends. In the end, the middle is all that's left.
[Announcement: As of 5th Feb, I will take one or two more weeks to finish off Story, due to RL issues. I ask for your patience, as I want to make sure the fic is a good one. In return, when I update Story one to two weeks later, it will be a multi-chapter update, such that the fic is complete.]
