Summary
Humans are largely an undocumented species in the greater universe. All who had ever tried to reach the outer cosmos had not survived; all but one, that is.
X, also known as Xisuma, found himself on the other side of the universe with nothing but what he had on him when he was taken. He decided that this was a prime opportunity to screw around and find out. One by one, Xisuma assembled the crew of the Hermitcraft, a ragtag team of misfit aliens from all across the cosmos. He showed them kindness and compassion, different than anything they ever knew, and they became stronger together.
This is how the crew of The Hermitcraft came to be.

“It’s okay.” Lizzie said, “what is the idea?” she asked, leaning her head on his shoulder, emotionally exhausted.
“If, when we are 26, ten years from now.” Joel said, stopping to see if Lizzie would say anything before continuing, “if we are both single, we could date each other, so neither of us would be alone.”
The moments of silence almost killed Joel.
Did he just ruin their friendship?
“I like that.” Lizzie said, “if when we are 26, both single, we will date each other.” she repeats.
So an agreement between the two was set.
Only they knew, they both promised to keep it to the two of them, and nobody else.
or, Joel and Lizzie deside, if they are both single when they turn 26 they will date each-outer (then marry possibly).

Martyn mainly cared for Grian's safety and mental health. He'd say that Grian was always too lonely, or should report his job to the Watchers because it might be unsafe. And he'd always ask Grian if he was okay, and tell him to call him if anything happened. The man worried too much. So when a dog with a note attached to its collar showed up at Grian's door suspiciously, he decided to call Mumbo instead. Little did he know, that this dog would change his life, forever. The world would've been better off if he'd called Martyn.

The last thing Iskall sees before it all goes dark is the moon, huge in the sky, the image of Mumbo leaping from the woods at him, burned behind his eyes.
or, The server's vampires go feral during season 8 and attack people. The peaple they attack die and don’t come back for some reason. The non-vampiric hermits race to restrain their vampiric friends well trying to find a way to bring the ones they killed back.

On his 8th birthday, he was gifted a high tech spirit box, quickly falling in love. Going around in the forest with that thing, trying to talk to any ghosts, never getting a response but that never brought him down.
But one day, out in the forest, he stumbled upon three unique cats, each one special in a familiar way. But he gained more and more, each of them from the forest. A strong, unbreakable connection that many hated, including his parents.
On his 18th birthday, he was forced to make a decision on that day from his parents. Either he gets rid of his cats and stays home, or leave.
For anything in the world vs. his cats, his cats will always be his choice. So he left and never heard a word from his parents.
