Summary
Roy Kent had a body like it’d never failed him, like it knew what it was for. Jamie’s body didn’t know what it was for. He didn’t know what it was for.
The only time it ever made sense was with a ball at his feet, legs moving, lungs burning, clean and sharp and fast. Even pain had rules in football. You twisted something, you got treatment. You missed a tackle, you got bollocked. Everything had a name, a shape, a fix.
This — this shame that clung like a film of sweat, this soreness in his jaw from clenching on instinct, this empty feeling in his stomach that churned — none of it had names.
He looked at his stupid, disobedient leg.
“Get up,” he said aloud. “Get the fuck up.”

Summary
Back when they were dating, sometimes Keeley went from finding him a normal amount of charming to really fucking endearing — and she'd take his face in her little hands and just squeeze him, like one of them cute little stress balls she bought sometimes. And Jamie had fucking loved it. Were too embarrassed to let her know, back then, but he really did.
Maybe if he told her, she would've kept doing it.
— Post-Man City, Jamie tries to sleep.

Summary
"I were just drying me hair," Jamie started, pointing at the counter where the offending hair dryer was still sitting. "And then I looked in the mirror, and I saw something."
"The fucking, ghost of bloody Mary or something, what?" Roy asked, his heart starting to race again. "Babe, you're fucking freaking me out."
Jamie sniffled and reached up, parting his hair in an odd way until Roy could see something, just an inch or so back from his hairline on his forehead.
One, single, silvery hair amongst the walnut strands.
"You gave me a fucking heart attack over a grey hair?" Roy asked, raising a brow. That was apparently the wrong thing to say because then Jamie was scrunching up his face again and letting out a wail. He tugged himself out of Roy's arms and ran into the bedroom, flopping face down in their unmade bed.
"You don't understand!" Jamie screeched into his pillow. "You're ancient! You've had grey hair since the 1800s."

Apophenia (/æpoʊˈfiːniə/)- the tendency to perceive patterns and connections between unrelated things.
Ted’s scheme to turn Jamie into a team player by making him and Roy room together for away games ends up working better than he hoped. It also a shines a light on things that Jamie wants to stay hidden. Fortunately for him, Roy can’t let go of the feeling that something is wrong and when things get worse before they get better, Jamie has more than one person in his corner.

Summary
When dating Jamie, Keeley observes that he has some submissive tendencies in bed, which delights her greatly, due to her own preferences. However, getting to a point where they can regularly have that sort of sex takes a hot minute. Roy Kent existing is somehow very helpful for achieving that goal.
AKA: Keeley trying to dom Jamie spanning from pre-season 1 to season 3 with OT3 endgame, but a focus on Jeeley.

Summary
At some point in Jamie’s life, he is going to have to admit that he doesn’t know what the word traumatizing means. Sure, he could look it up in a dictionary or whatever, but a dry definition from some dead prick isn’t going to explain where the boundary lies between something normal that just felt bad and something that traumatized him, something that shouldn’t have happened at all—if the world was nice and fair.
Really, he’d prefer not to have to figure it out. He’d prefer to just focus on footie and his team and the weird, intense, wonderful thing that might be happening with Roy, and he’d be allowed to have that—if the world was nice and fair.

Summary
King Rupert had been gone for nearly a full month on this errand, and when he rode off it was specifically to offer articles of treaty to Roy, Duke of Kent and the newly crowned King of Chelsea. Rupert had locked himself up in his chambers with his most trusted advisors and ministers for three full days composing the articles when word came that Roy wasn’t going to stop with Chelsea. He had just completed a siege of West Ham, whose gates had fallen after only one week, and Albion had practically invited him right through the doors, surrendering to Roy’s army as soon as he arrived. Richmond was larger and more powerful than either West Ham or Albion, but Rupert firmly believed the best way to win a battle was to avoid having the battle. He’d rather keep his money and not use it to outfit an army, and making small concessions to Roy now would be the best way to keep him from Richmond’s gates.
They said Roy owed his success to pagan gods, maybe even the Devil himself, and practiced human sacrifice under the full moon...They said he was ugly, scarred, face as twisted and maimed as his heart. Most of all, though, they said he was looking for a marriage to legitimize his throne and secure power.Series

Summary
It’s not like Jamie thinks he’s actually going to meet Roy Kent. He might catch a glimpse of him, but, even if he were brave enough to talk to him, it’s not like Roy would just be out and about ready for some random nineteen year old to strike up a conversation with him.
So while Jamie lurks around the visitor’s side of City’s facilities, he does it with the knowledge that he’s probably wasting his own time.
Or Jamie hooks up with Roy about five years pre-canon and they quickly form a strong bond. AKA the prequel to the one where Colin finds out that Roy is married.

Summary
“Jamie,” Roy sighed, rubbing a hand over his face if only so he didn’t have to meet Jamie’s eyes. He couldn’t deny, however, that there was something gentle, something longing, in his tone. “You don’t fucking want this.”
Jamie’s gaze fell a little at that. “Don’t want to be in love with you?”
“Don’t want to be with me,” Roy explained quietly with a shake of his head. “You might think you do, but you don’t.”
Jamie swallowed down his anger, taking a step closer to Roy, trying to come truly face-to-face, and prompting the older man to take a step back. “Explain it to me. Tell me exactly why I don’t want this, so I can fucking prove you wrong.”
Or:
Roy feels guilty about always wanting Jamie around and it leads to him being unable to accept Jamie's confession of love, at least at first.
