Summary
Roy shows Jamie just how amazing he is.
*****
Sturdy, masculine palms caress Roy's hips for all of two minutes before seemingly getting bored. Roy can't say he blames him, although the feeling of Jamie's hands attempting to grip the backs of Roy's thighs is a shock that makes him pull away for a moment. "The fuck are you doing?"Jamie blinks at him. His knees are slightly bent, head tilted up where his mouth was just connected to Roy's. "Picking you up?" He looks like a fucking kicked dog and there's an unfortunate part of Roy that just wants to make that look worse. Fuck, there really is something wrong with him.
"Fucking why?" He isn't sure if he means for it to come out the way that it does. It's gruff and even he can hear that it sounds almost angry.
An eye roll. "So I can toss you onto the middle of my bed and…" He licks his lips as he pauses. "I don't know. Ravish you or something?"
Roy considers it. Jamie's hands are still wrapped around the backs of his thighs. They're careful. Gentle. Ready to slip away if asked. Roy finds that he doesn't want Jamie to let go. "Fuck."

Summary
Jamie’s life had been worse–it really had been.
His life felt vaguely reminiscent of a polished purgatory. It wasn’t entirely horrible; it just wasn’t what he thought it’d be when he was growing up. Every stroke of bad luck was followed by a stroke of good luck, as if his life were a game of dominoes. At 16, Jamie fought his father for the first time. Then, James got his first arrest that resulted in his mother finally being granted a restraining order against him. When Jamie was 17, he presented as an omega and was forced to quit football that same week. Only three months later, the Premier League suddenly decided omegas were capable of playing. Just Jamie’s fucking luck. The universe had always made room for him, yet he still managed to feel like shit. -

Summary
Jamie likes to win. Luckily, Roy knows how to help him do it.
*****
A heavy hand threads through his hair, yanking back until he's looking up at Roy. From this angle his ever-present frown almost looks like a grin. Jamie smiles up at him, leaning into the grip on his hair to take a bit of the tension off of his scalp. Can't have his hair being ripped out, can he?He barely notices the change in the shape of Roy's lips before he feels the hot splatter of spit on his cheek. The same one that Roy just slapped the fuck out of. It dribbles down his cheek like a tear. "You're a little bitch. This is for you, remember?" Roy sneers down at him. Tugs his hair again. Presses his bad knee between Jamie's shoulder blades.
And the fact that Jamie knows it's his bad knee doesn't bode well, but Jamie is too far into this to turn back now. "Then give it to me. Don't you want us to win?"
Roy just glares down at him. "Ask for it. Be good and ask me for it."
'Be good'. Jamie rolls his eyes. "I'm not gonna fuckin' beg for it."

“Coach?” Jamie said, halfway through a set of squat jacks, not remotely out of breath. “What do you think about Ajax?”
Roy looked at him over his coffee. “Competent team, deep bench for defenders but thin on the ground for quality attackers and they’re in dire need of a new box-to-boxer since Arnold is on his way to PSV next season.”
Jamie hummed absent-mindedly.
Roy cocked his head on one side and examined Jamie. His mouth was screwed into something considering. Something half a shade apprehensive and half a shade curious.
Oh.
or, Jamie considers a move to Ajax, Roy gives his two cents

Summary
The only time Jamie's body ever made sense was with a ball at his feet, legs moving, lungs burning, clean and sharp and fast. Even pain had rules in football. You twisted something, you got treatment. You missed a tackle, you got bollocked. Everything had a name, a shape, a fix.
This — this shame that clung like a film of sweat, this soreness in his jaw from clenching on instinct, this empty feeling in his stomach that churned — none of it had names.
He looked at his stupid, disobedient leg.
“Get up,” he said aloud. “Get the fuck up.”

Summary
Back when they were dating, sometimes Keeley went from finding him a normal amount of charming to really fucking endearing — and she'd take his face in her little hands and just squeeze him, like one of them cute little stress balls she bought sometimes. And Jamie had fucking loved it. Were too embarrassed to let her know, back then, but he really did.
Maybe if he told her, she would've kept doing it.
— Post-Man City, Jamie tries to sleep.

Summary
"I were just drying me hair," Jamie started, pointing at the counter where the offending hair dryer was still sitting. "And then I looked in the mirror, and I saw something."
"The fucking, ghost of bloody Mary or something, what?" Roy asked, his heart starting to race again. "Babe, you're fucking freaking me out."
Jamie sniffled and reached up, parting his hair in an odd way until Roy could see something, just an inch or so back from his hairline on his forehead.
One, single, silvery hair amongst the walnut strands.
"You gave me a fucking heart attack over a grey hair?" Roy asked, raising a brow. That was apparently the wrong thing to say because then Jamie was scrunching up his face again and letting out a wail. He tugged himself out of Roy's arms and ran into the bedroom, flopping face down in their unmade bed.
"You don't understand!" Jamie screeched into his pillow. "You're ancient! You've had grey hair since the 1800s."
