While away, though, late at night in a bar on the edge of Eutin, he hears of an old oak tree with a knothole for a letterbox. An old oak tree storied to bring soulmates together.
And, well...six ill-considered glasses of wine later find Sirius face to face with the Bridegroom’s Oak, climbing its ladder to poke a tipsily-composed mess of a letter through the hole. Call it a whim. Call it a momentary lapse in judgement. Call it a drunken tale to be forgotten about come morning.
And forget about it, he does.

Seeing Zayne now — cold, reserved and distant hurts her, but still makes her desire to reconnect even stronger.
But Zayne is distant not only for professional reasons.
