“So, not going to ask for my name?” James asks after a moment, and Regulus huffs, wiping his hands on his apron as he stands up, giving James a bored glance.
“I don’t really care to know, to be honest,” he snips back, and James places a dramatic hand on his chest as he leans back, feigning pain.
“Ooh, ouch, my heart. Careful, I’m a fragile man. It’s James, just so you know. Now you have the pleasure of knowing the name of the person you’ll be jerking off to tonight,” he winks, and again Regulus rolls his eyes as he scoffs.
“Please,” he replies back, but he can’t hide the pink tinging his cheeks, and James’ grin widens as he steps closer. Regulus stares at him for a hot moment, before blinking and shaking his head.
James is famous in a band, and Regulus is a barista in a coffee shop. Four minutes before closing, James escapes into his shop from a crowd of fans, implanting himself into Regulus' life permanently.

Summary
This fic is about the Marauders & co. (Mary, Lily, Marlene) and the Slytherins (Regulus, Barty, Evan etc.) towards the end of their (Marauders) last year of Hogwarts and beyond. There is quite a lot of Black brother angst, which I love and will be exploring more. There is some homophobia and stuff about coming out, which I tried to make as time period accurate as possible, but I wasn't alive then and I'm so sorry if I get wrong.
Non-canon compliant. Everyone lives (the war is still happening though).

In fact, if given a choice, he would’ve preferred to die in September—somewhere in between the miserable heat of summer and the gloomy cold of autumn, just for the spite of it all. After gulping down a potion that burns like liquid acid and battling some nasty Inferi in his final moments, Regulus is ready for the afterlife—a peaceful hill where he can watch his loved ones live their lives without him. A nice, quiet end. Or so he thought.
