“I told you to stop calling me that,” he laughed, ignoring the uncomfortable pit of dread in his stomach. “I’m serious, Jason. Be careful, okay?”
Robin pulled him down to the floor and into his strong embrace, laughing as he tried to wriggle free. “I will, Tim. I promise."
Five days later, Jason Todd was dead.
At the age of fifteen, Tim Drake lost his best friend, his everything, his Robin. After spending five years overcome with grief and sorrow, he has just regained some semblance of normalcy when a new vigilante comes crashing into his life. One with an obnoxious red helmet whose stubbornness and oddly protective nature feel strangely familiar.
At the age of seventeen, Jason Todd was brutally murdered. Five agonizingly long years later, he returns to Gotham and, unable to stay away from his other half for long, goes crashing into his life, managing to conceal his identity for months before his lie of omission finally blows up in his face.

Prince Arthur did not intend to bring Merlin on patrol, he didn’t even know his manservant could ride a horse. But he can’t say no to that grin, not when Merlin has gone and packed and saddled up a horse for himself without asking. It’s a dull, routine patrol along the border, almost a formality at this point. Even if magic is legal in Escetir, they’ve held a shaky peace treaty with Camelot for over a decade; it’s unlikely they’ll see any danger.
But what Arthur does not know is that the recent spike in deaths of magical creatures in Camelot has not gone unnoticed. There are whispers that King Uther is a liar and a hypocrite, now secretly rebuilding his magical defence. And to bring sorcery to the border - well now, that would be an act of aggression tantamount to declaring war.

“What did you just do?” Arthur asks. Merlin opens his mouth, then closes it. “Because it seems like you just magicked my drink cold,” Arthur continues. He isn’t sure how his voice comes out so steady because his thoughts are on fire.
“Well, you always get grumpy when it’s too warm,” Merlin says, finally finding his words. Arthur wishes he hadn’t, and his look must portray this because Merlin’s mouth closes again, this time with an audible click.
Arthur closes his eyes, a series of emotions washing over him—anger, sadness, disappointment, fear. But still, even combined, none of them come even close to this overwhelming feeling of embarrassment. Because, how did he not realize it before? It was right in front of him all this time, literally. And if Merlin is so bold as to use his magic to ice Arthur’s beverage, who knows what else he’s been using his magic for, and more importantly, who knows how long Arthur hasn’t been able to recognize it?
Based off of a tumblr post where the strongest emotion Arthur feels after discovering that Merlin has magic is embarrassment.
