Summary
It should’ve been fine. The guy had a sniper rifle, probably with a killer scope and night vision, but Scout was faster than any human he’d ever met, easy. Plus, he had natural night vision, even if it wasn’t great- and the forest provided cover, the trees obscuring him from Sniper’s view within seconds.
Rule number two: hybrids don’t underestimate hunters. Fatal mistake.
He should’ve known Sniper wasn’t just coincidentally driving down the same road. He drove with no GPS, and this place was a maze of dirt backroads and broken signs. These were his woods, and Scout was the one in unfamiliar territory.
Hence the bear trap currently ripping through his ankle.

[Verse 1]
I get in my head so easily, I don't understand, I'm my worst enemy, You assure me you love me and seal it with a kiss, I can't be convinced
[Chorus]
It's just a matter of time 'til you see the dagger, It's a special of mine to cause disaster, So prepare for the impact, and brace your heart, For cold, bloody, bitter sabotage.

Sacrifice
Noun
“An act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy.”Five years ago, Scout’s brother volunteered to take his place during the 74th Hunger Games. As one of the final two tributes, the people of District Eight truly believed there was a chance he could come home. He was betrayed at the last minute, dying in the arms of his ally. Now, Scout has been reaped again. Spy, a man he despises, is his mentor. This time there isn’t anybody there to sacrifice themself.

Summary
Meet Jeremy Willis: a short tempered, dyslexic young man from the south side of Boston who was forced to grow up too fast. Believing he has nowhere else to go in life, he signs up to become a mercenary in the New Mexico desert, a far cry from the dangerous back alleys he was raised in.
His new coworkers are eccentric, to say the least. They include a soft spoken pyromaniac, a chronic drunk, and a solitary sniper with an alluring accent.
But the conniving spy of the group might just give Jeremy the nudge he needs to find out who he truly is, and why, in the long run, he was always destined to be the scout.~
Hi! This is my first fanfic on AO3 after being on Wattpad for a few years! Comments are appreciated and encouraged. Hope you enjoy!

Summary
The more they didn’t get anger, the more they wanted it.
They wanted Scout to get mad that they forgot. They wanted him to yell or cry or throw things. He’d done so much to help Pyro with the other mercs’ birthdays so far, he should expect the same. But he didn’t.
Even the night before his birthday, he hadn’t brought it up once. There was just a quiet acceptance on his face- that tomorrow meant nothing. Not to him, not to anybody. He wasn’t angry. Wasn’t even sad.
It went unspoken that he was very, very used to this.

Summary
Sometimes he’d see himself on the battlefield.
Same blue shirt, black hat, rattling dog tags. Same hollow look in his eyes, scar on the bridge of his nose. They’d both slow to a stop, frozen on opposite ends of a drafty warehouse.
The Spy would stare, and Scout would stare back.
He didn’t want to be mad anymore.
One way or another, he was going to look like his father.

dumb confession
implied nsfw.
"Oh man," Scout breathed, lips brushing Sniper's, dizzy with it. "We're, like, five seconds from somethin' I'm not even dressed for."
Sniper laughed against his mouth. Rough, warm and dangerous. "You came up here in a tank top and a mouth full o' trouble, mate. That's your own fault."
"I just wanted to talk!"
"You're doin' a lot of talkin' for someone who's about to melt in my hands."

Jeremy was used to strange circumstances by now, working for the BLU Team so long. Even after the events of Sawmill, he thought he had a good grip on the oddities of merc work. Turns out, there was a new hurdle he hadn't encountered yet; being reassigned to an all female team of batshit insane and uncomfortably attractive mercenaries. It was gonna take a lot more than his speed and dazzling charisma to get outta this mess in one piece, he knew that much for sure...

Summary
Scout wasn’t particularly lucky, nor was he a total failure. Just a guy with some bugs in his head, always on the run, and a habit of talking first and thinking later. And yet, luck followed him like a shadow—too often, too precisely, as if some higher hand was nudging events along. Too often to be coincidence.
Doesn’t God love everyone equally?
— Of course He does, — that’s what they say in Sunday school. But then Scout falls off a roof and lands right on a bunch of mattresses that no one remembers putting there. Storms in one-against-three and somehow wins without lifting a finger. Closes a café after a night shift and magically finds a new job with better pay. Thinks about wanting something specific—and poof, there it is, right in front of him.
Scout would’ve laughed it off. He took it for granted. You just say it, and bam. He would’ve said something like, “I’m just that awesome, that’s all!”
But somewhere—in that far-off place where coincidences aren’t born—someone smiles just a little too wide.
