Then ensues a conversation that's sealed with a kiss, and suddenly Rody, Roro, and Lala are moving to Japan, Izuku is getting called a teen father by his friends, and Izuku gets to experience what he thinks might just be domestic bliss.

    Izuku and Aizawa survived the USJ timeloop. (They died so many times, killed and saved and failed over and over, and they'll forever be able to feel the blood on their hands-) They didn't break.

    But one success doesn't stop reality from returning, and the rest of their story is piling up in front of them, demanding to be faced. And what are heroes to do but to keep fighting?

    So they'll keep on moving, and they won't break now.

    "Thank you, Shouta."  It's a deliberate word choice, just like it was when they left the USJ and when they left the Midoriya apartment, as it is deliberate how Izuku reaches out, palm-up and fingers splayed, bloodstains and a single rose-gold shimmer laid bare.
    And Aizawa slips his own callouses and bloodstains against it, not-now rust flaking away between their warmth, and they squeeze thrice, just like in their death throes and promises and quiet grief. Like this, with this, things will be alright. Together, they'll make sure of it.

    Midoriya Inko. Kind hearted, emotional, soft spoken, and loving in nature, is not weak. Her best friend was Mitsuki Bakugo and she was a single mom left to raise a child on her own, if that wasn’t reason enough to believe she wasn’t weak there was one thing left that proved it to Izuku with no room for doubt.

    He’d always known it, but now as they stood shell shocked in the child’s quirk counseling center after a long day of quirk development scares, alone after the doctor had screamed in terror and ran out of the door leaving them with the quirk registration papers with nothing but ‘Monster’ as the quirk description, his mom squared her shoulders and began to help him fill the rest of it out with a brave face of determination. It was then that his mom’s strength, and unconditional love for him became a staple to his view of her.

    He plans out what to say to the cashier when ordering coffee, he plans out his homework before even opening his textbook. He has a whole ten-year plan for how he’s going to get into UA’s hero course and get his hero license fully quirkless. He plans for every wild, unlikely scenario he can think of because his anxiety gets so bad if he doesn’t go through every possible outcome, every way his life could landslide into disaster–– but Izuku never planned for this.

    For once, he doesn’t have a plan and he doesn’t have time to think of one. All he can see is Yagi-san’s lined, kind face looking resigned as he stares down the villain in his shop. Yagi-san, who is the closest thing to a father figure Izuku has ever had.

    Izuku doesn’t think. He just moves.

    (Or: Izuku saves the number one hero, gets a hero license way earlier than anyone wanted, realizes that maybe hero society isn’t as great as he thought it was, and everything just kind of falls apart from there.)
