    Tim opened his mouth to respond but the only thing that came out was a low, distressed keen. Calling for pack. Screaming that he wasn’t okay. 

    “Shit,” he heard Jason curse. There was a shuffling on the other end and the slamming of things opening and closing.

    “Where are you?” Jason’s voice was low and urgent.

      Read through ch 8

      Bold text is real memories, while anything not in bold in memories is an implanted/false memory from Tim’s time in captivity.

      Spoilers: the bats were really close. A lot closer than canon. It seems like Titans Tower never happened and the Tim got adopted younger and was close to all the bats, but dealt with trauma from his time with his parents which made him sometimes possibly suicidal and made him question the bats and his own mind. Tim’s captor exacerbated that with a torture implement called the Chair which overwrote his good memories with bad ones. Now he’s convinced Batman is going to kill Signal because he’s a meta and that Tim needs to return to his captor (Jor-El/Mr Oz) to fix his head. Also, Bruce helped Tim program his own brain with after egos so they could hide it from possible brainwashing. Tim is convinced Bruce is Matches Malone who was his mob boss mentor and that Matches thinks he is Alvin.

    Tim Drake is holding it together. Barely.
    He’s an orphan (which, yeah, isn’t exactly rare around here), his guardian barely acknowledges him, his place in the Batfam is… undefined at best, one of his brothers definitely wants him dead, and being Robin is not as fun as it sounds. The weight of Gotham is starting to feel a little heavier each night and sleep is a myth. Add schoolwork and the crushing loneliness of a 16-year-old who lives solo in a giant manor, and you’ve got a disaster cocktail with a cherry on top.
    So when a weird floating boy shows up out of nowhere, Tim’s totally sure it’s just his overworked, sleep-deprived brain staging an intervention. A welfare hallucination. Happens.
    ...Still, it’s kinda nice not being alone for a change.

    ...And Alfred had dealt with the aftermath, making him Tim again. (but you are not Tim. Tim is dead. This isn’t your room. This isn’t your house. They aren’t your parents. Are you done playing pretend?)

    Tim was JJ, and JJ was Tim. That was the only thing that made sense.

    In true Two Face fashion, Tim flipped a coin.

    Heads, Tim would stick around Gotham and nothing would change. Tails, Tim would leave Gotham and start over.

    Meanwhile the Bats are trying to figure out a way to make up to Tim after all that had happened.
