I got this idea when reading Peter David's Aquaman, mainly Annual 1995. And btw, Dolphin is completely written out, due to her subpar character in the run itself. Think of this fic as an alternate universe where Garth actually got Arthur help.
TW: Suicide, trauma, child loss, abuse and all of that stuff. Also spoilers for chunks of the Peter David Aquaman saga, including The Atlantis Chronicles, Time and Tide and Aquaman Volume 5.
